“Desperate” product placement? AirPods Max were released in December and are still backordered for weeks. Seems like you’re the one who’s desperate.
Brand confusion is a real problem.
Beats never had that Apple feel/image to them, and to then integrate them into the iconography like that… Nah. Not a good look for Apple.
Nevermind that ... what of the 'different gender options for people with beards' ?!
Like ... huh? how does this even look? whom that would really want this would actually use it? how often?

OLED true blacks are still not fixed!
Basically, the iPhone 12 is like TFT-LCD when brightness is below 80% and the problem is still not fixed with iOS14.5 Beta 2. (not all phones are affected, therefore it must be a hardware issue which Apple is trying to hide!)
Try to do a local dimming test with a brightness between 10-80% in an "ABSOLUTE" dark room:
If the black background glows during the test, report to Apple and ask for replacement.

Yes, it's especially thanks to airpods Max that Sony XM4's are flying off the shelves. And they look like the old emoji too.
Sony is gimping production to make it seem the demand is more than it really is.
Funny story. When Siri first came out I was demonstrating it to my friend and asked Siri to call me "master". She promptly replied "I shall call you bastard". And so for the last 9 years Siri (and everywhere else that use nickname, including mail) has referred to me as bastard.
I really need to know this too! My CarPlay has been crashing if I’m using Apple Maps and switch to any other app and go back to maps.

Update: This issue has been fixed as of iOS 14.5 beta 2. Multiple people who submitted this issue through the feedback app received confirmation from Apple that the issue was resolved with this beta. I feel like we get things like this with every new phone, but... I’m noticing frequent...

For everyone complaining about Apple "wasting time" on new emojis, here is your regular reminder that the emoji set is defined by Unicode not Apple and these new emojis were announced back in September - https://home.unicode.org/emoji-13-1-now-final-to-be-widely-available-in-2021/

I was not aware that the microphone was not muted when the cover of the iPad was closed. I have an iPad Air 3, and thought that when the cover closed, and locked the device, the mic was muted or “turned off”.
Unless I have one of the models mentioned, in the article, with the smart folio keyboard case, is the following true? I am FaceTiming with someone, and I close the cover of my iPad. The person would still be able to hear me? Maybe I’m missing something simple here, but I’m confused.

It would have been so much simpler and more efficient if Apple decoupled app updates from major iOS patches. That goes for Music, Messages, TV etc. I don't want to wait for a .x iOS update to improve my Music experience, and I don't want a system update to be all about Music and Messages either.
Apple is already copiously (and superficially) grafting random Android features on top of the iOS interface, I just wish they'd also do it for things that make a difference.
