Installed on my iPhone 11 Pro. Oddly, the System Preferences icon has a "1" indicator but nothing in preferences is out of sorts. Rebooted twice, checked settings, ensured it updated, etc. Odd. Anyone else experiencing this? Will file a bug report just in case.

Installation took quite a while and resulted in a white screen with a black logo - uncommon for installs.

Since installing it worked properly for about an hour, and now I am in a restart loop where upon each unlock the iPhone is automatically shutting down and restarting. A force restart did not clear this up. Anyone else experiencing this?

Oddly, it kept rebooting during the install. I unplugged it from my Mac Pro and the reboot Apple logo stopped appearing and "swipe up to upgrade" appeared. Since then it's been fine aside from an odd "1" on my iPhone 11 Pro's System Preferences icon yet found nothing wrong in settings. Rebooted it twice just in case, still there. Definitely an odd OTA update.

jeez. fine, i'll install it... is it no less stable than 1?
betas should get increasingly more stable. At least that's been my experience with iOS betas. I mean you can wait a day and check the forums to ensure nobody else encountered any regressions.

The purpose of betas isn't so alexandr can get his features before everyone else. It's so you can test everything and report issues. Apple will likely ignore any bug reports you make if you're 3 whole freakin betas behind.

What does the appletv widget do? Are there quick controls? does it show what’s playing? Is it actually useful?

It seems like I’m the only one who has search issues... I can’t search apps or anything on iPhone 11 Pro Max or iPad Pro 2018 since beta 1....

mad a side note I dunno if it’s new to this beta but emoji search now works in Canada keyboards (didn’t before) so Iused the us one.
(also both keyboards don’t solve the search issue incase anyone was wondering)

I had this same issue @CJ Dorschel, but after the update completed it worked fine for about an hour and then it started the reboot loop again. That issue has now stopped... To be safe I have changed my profile from the Dev Beta to the public beta just to keep it safe(r) in the future.

@GregJohn I have had this issue since iOS 13 lol... It's nothing new

ohh no.. what could be causing it ... it’s honestly so frustrating

Apple today released the fourth developer betas of iOS and iPadOS 14 for testing purposes, tweaking and refining some of the features and design changes included in the update.

Changes get smaller and less notable as the beta testing period goes on, but there are still some noteworthy new features in the fourth beta, which we've highlighted below.

- Apple TV widget - There's a new Apple TV widget available in the fourth beta.

- Search improvements - When searching for in-app content or questions, top hits are now displayed underneath web suggestions, as noted by Federico Vittici. The app displays apps, Siri Knowledge, Siri suggestions, News, and more up top, with an option to get more results. Search in App remains available at the bottom of the interface.

- 3D Touch - 3D Touch, which was unavailable in the last beta, is again working on compatible devices.

- Exposure Notification API - The Exposure Notification API has been added to this beta, so iOS 14 users can download apps that use Exposure Notification.

In music, lyrics which are not time-synced now have a new, larger look.

Is it? I dont see anything special. Maybe the font is a bit larger.

the font size went from something like 10pt to what appears to be 18pt. I have no clue what the actual sizes are, but it struck me and is something of some note

Im having more problems with this beta than any of them before it. Camera wouldnt focus earlier until I restarted my phone. Couldnt pick up a facetime audio call. Weird slowness. Ugh anyone else?

The alarm time editing is horrendous (no longer the scroll) in B3. I hope it's fixed in this beta. (Haven't gotten the time to download it yet.)

Nope sadly still has that same clunky UI I agree the scroll was much better. But I do like this option Under Sleep to better control how "Do Not Disturb" functions rather than the blanket 22:00 - 08:00 everyday Under Sleep it controls down to individual days So at times on the weekend or days off I can push that time out to say 10:00 if I want to have a sleep in specify that No Alarm Sound and my default DND is overwritten / extended to satisfy my Sleep requirements it was something missing with DND not having that granularity to choose different times for different days

Man! it was much needed, that's the only thing that matters in this beta. I still don't know how people with the new iphones are surviving without it
A lot of us traded out for several more hours of battery life as a decent trade off, but I do miss it sometimes

What’s the point of putting the widget name under the widget? It’s pretty obvious what the widget is by just looking at it...

The issues I've had with iOS14 Beta 3:
  • Significant battery drain. I've actually had it charging with a USBC 18w and saw the battery percentage go down!!!!
  • Search screen doesn't show anything. Just a greyed out screen. Typing in the search bar doesn't pull any results.
  • Weather widget typically shows no data unless I click it, then it will update with my city's weather.
  • Back tap is basically useless. The features are triggered by holding my phone normally.
  • Need a big digital time widget (not the world clock one).
  • PiP (Picture in Picture) should be able to resized to ANY size and placed ANYWHERE on the screen, not just S, M, L windows that can only be placed on the corners of the screen.
