I no longer feel lonely when even The Verge, Zollotech, and FTP among others are complaining about Apple software becoming increasingly boring.
But if boring software brings better software, that’s a good trade. We need no new features every single next second.

Playlist Search in Music App

Apple has added a long-awaited feature that allows Apple Music users to search within playlists.
Long-awaited? I can search in my local playlist just fine without iOS 15.2 beta 3. What’s new here?

Another thing is keeping your eSIM slot open allows you to try other carriers easily, like the recent T-Mobile test drive.
This is a really good point. On my 2020 SE, only two slots are available—the physical SIM and eSIM. If the eSIM slot is occupied by your primary carrier, it can’t be used to download data-only eSIMs when you travel abroad, for example.

Just to note, iPhone 13 models can use dual SIM with two eSIM slots. Earlier models can only use dual SIM with the physical slot and one eSIM slot.

Note that you can have multiple eSIMs on earlier models, you just can only have one active at a time.

Having your main carrier on an eSIM may actually be better for traveling because you can buy those cheap prepaid SIM kits at the airport, pop it in, and go.

The situation varies wildly, though, which is why you shouldn't transfer a physical sim to an eSIM unless you have to. Might as well not limit your options, since you can't go in the other direction without talking to your carrier and getting a new SIM card.

Umm, ok. Doesn’t look like I can search within albums or artists either.
That's because you can't. From what MacRumors has posted, its search within playlists only.

Useful for individuals who have large playlists that may or may not be in their own personal library.

Cool, no mention of a fix for CarPlay.

Still don’t GAF about the rest of this “stuff” until CarPlay is fixed.

True! I went to my carrier to switch back to the physical SIM because I wanted to use the eSIM slot for data-only eSIMs abroad downloadable from an app called Airalo.

That way I could keep my primary number for voice calls, FaceTime, and iMessage on the physical SIM and not have to pop out the SIM card while abroad.

Not working for me in this latest 15.2 beta 3 update, except for the odd find.

Edit:
Someone said it is only for searching within Playlists, so I wonder why there is a Search field above the Playlists list.

Edit 2: My bad. It works as advertised I just doing love the labelling in the search boxes.

If you have many playlists, you then search the playlist you want. Then, you can now search the song that you want from that Playlist if you wish to do so.

It's a feature that Spotify has had for a very long time now.

13 Pro photo processing still water colored dog sht.
Apple still didn’t even address it as an issue.
Will never get fixed.
Can you elaborate on what you are experiencing? Personally, with the iPhone 13 Pro, I see a lot of processing when zoomed in that destroys detail and replaces it with… smudge. For example trees and leaves end up like a painting. I have never seen this on my iPhone 11 Pro, but it might be me focusing on this just now (or indeed a new issue).
Is that what you are referring to as well?

iOS 15 in general couldn't have been more boring
I like iterative, boring updates when it comes to my mobile operating system. It should always be in service or productivity and efficiency, rather than marketable features.

If you convert to eSIM it would invalidate your SIM card so you could pull it out and trash it once you've converted.
iPhone 13 also supports two eSIMs (as opposed to eSIM and a physical SIM in previous iPhones). I wonder if that means you can have 2 SIMs and one physical SIM and select two out of the three to be active.

Yes you can. You can have dual eSIM or eSIM + Physical SIM active at once.

Apple is really underselling their Private Relay features.

I bet 99% of the users don't know that it also encrypts every DNS request (even on other browsers) on iOS/iPadOS. So you don't need to use secure DNS app/profile.
I enabled it after reading your post.
