Everything New in iOS 17.2 Beta 4

It would be great if Apple told us the speed of our usb cables. Even if they wanted to keep it very vague and apple-like. Just to know hey you can use this cable for high speed transfer or not.

But this is good news on the mobile filmmaker front.

I'm installing this now (15 Pro). I just want to be able to switch the defaults to the Classic sounds. The new ones stink!

The Journal App now seems to sync over iCloud. Not sure if this was part of yesterday's DB4 but it's nice to see it now works (only between iPhones on same Apple ID of course).

Can we please get the 'Oops something went wrong' Siri issue fixed with Homekit device timers / requests for the thousandth time please?

Glad the collaborative Apple Music playlists is going - anything that unclutters this horrible app is for the better. Who even uses this?

I’m not receiving any Notifications from Facebook on my screen, locked screen, etc. I’ve tried everything. I brought it up an Apple Store yesterday & he couldn’t figure it out after an hour. Any help or solutions on here that anyone can assist? Thanks

"Default Notification Sound - Under Sounds & Haptics, there's a new "Default Alerts" section that allows you to choose the sound used for all incoming notifications aside from texts, mail alerts, and calendar alerts, which already had customization options."

Apple listened quickly: Most Excellent

Time to whip out my 30s long notification songs for maximum enjoyment.

WHAT ABOUT THE MAC?

I want to make my notification sounds consistent but Mail uses system sounds than alert sounds on Mac and you cant change calendar or reminders!
Nah, let Apple figure out how to sync tones between iOS and macOS in the next decade. :p

I am happy you are all also thrilled at the default app notification sound being changeable soon. I use google voice for work and the new default alert is too damn quiet.

Why the hell they can't make it different per app is outrageous though. Was that just too much work or something? Everyone wants it...
Apple doesn't want to give tech-savvy users too much freedom you know... o_O
It's against their philosophy and company culture.

Since I installed the new beta one hour ago the mail app does not show search results anymore. Rebooting my MacBook and restarting the mail app do not solve the problem. Any idea how to fix this?
Under settings > Mail > Privacy Protection > toggle off “Protect Mail Activity” and then toggle off “Hide IP Address” allows it to load my messages after the beta update.

While collaborative Apple Music playlists were introduced in an earlier version of iOS 17.2, Apple has removed the option in the fourth beta
Since updating a few days ago, I noticed that I can no longer edit my collaborative playlist, which renders them unusable besides being able to be listened to. They appear under my name, as if I added it from someone else's account, but I have no rights to edit it. Hopefully this gets reverted as I love to constantly change and grow my playlists.
