It‘s been there since iPadOS 16 at least I believe. I think I tried it before, and it works as kind of like a clamshell mode. The screen stays on when you close the keyboard or folio though, so you have to remember to switch on and off the setting, which is a bit annoying. But it’s great for occasions when you’re working for a while at a desk with Stage Manager, and want to keep the iPad case closed. It would still be better to have a true clamshell mode that allowed the iPad’s display to turn off, without turning off the external monitor.There seems to be a new "Lock/Unlock" feature under the Display & Brightness setting. Im still trying to figure out how it works tho.
