How would you feel about that, though? Unpleasant, Neutral or Pleasant? LOL 😁. Joking aside, I think you can do that already. I believe you can hold down on them and re-order them and then go into settings and remove the ones you don't want as well as add ones you'd like.

If you go to a contact, you can choose to use the one the other person has created, or go back to the custom one you had before

So one has to do this for every contact to disable? What is the default?

You missed one thing, now when you go to your app drawer (or app side panel) on your Home Screen, now when you press and hold an app it automatically takes you to the Home Screen (like iOS 16 or 17.3 (beta 3)) instead of bugging out and staying on the app drawer,
