The wallpaper animation as you swipe down undermines the physicality of liquid glass.
Yes, it's a cool dev trick to make a downward swipe slowly reveal a stationary picture - but it detracts from the idea that you're swiping down to have notification center cover what's already own the screen. Instead, your swipe slowly reveals this unexpected image (Hi Tim!) that seems to have been hovering there all along, in some sort of invisible layer. Like he's been watching you all this time.
I like Stars better than a simple Heart/Favorite. I can star some and then go back and see if those are better or worse and gradually choose the best ones... Back in aperture Days I would say 3-5 were good enough to spend some time adjusting, generally only 4-5 would get posted somewhere and only 5 would get physical prints.
Ugh. Just realized that the base iPhone 17 doesn't support these features. That's pretty messed up. When I bought this phone I was assured that it would work with "Apple Intelligence" well into the future.
Iāve been using it since beta 1 on my main device. I donāt use my phone for anything important. Itās been good for the most part. I feel like this latest beta has been the buggiest so far with just some little things here and there. No major issues though.
From some of the images I have seen showcased for 27, I will not be going to it anytime soon. I will stay on 18 for devices and Sequoia for the Studio.
I get the feeling that Apple is fighting with itself over the useless Liquid Glass. The level of arrogance to admit the error of screwing up the GUI/UX is quite high.
they quite literally did not āscrew upā the user interface or the user experience by introducing liquid glass. i have had zero negative experiences with the experience of liquid glass.
and it is very much not useless. the floating navigation bars for example are very useful in that they allow more content to be displayed on the screen, and the way they did it in apple music is by far one of the best implementations of it.
they arenāt arrogant for not rolling back to the iOS 18 design either.
