Another change in ipadOS - long press on a link in Safari now offers to ’open in Background’ rather than a open in a new Tab.

Sorry but this too little too late for me. When I became a small business owner a couple of years ago, my first thought was to use iCloud and Macs for my business. But not being able to share iCloud folders was a big let down. I sadly opted for Google Drive, which worked fine for a while till I ran into the whole BS about their document security. Now I'm happy to say I use OneDrive and it works fine on my Mac, iPhone and Windows PC.

And you think OneDrive is more secure? Lol

What about freakin BACKGROUND ACTIVITY for apps?

iOS 13.3.1 was STILL killing apps in the background almost immediately! Examples are Outlook opened emails, Amazon app, Google Photos, Whatsapp wont do its daily backup overnight, etc! Most of apps are refreshing even freakin 10 seconds after they where closed, only one app opened between them. WHAT THE HELL!?

Is it fixed!? Apple disregards this as if it was completely fixe on iOS 13.1; it has never been.

There are new features you missed in the music app. Refer to my tweet that I posted under your post about new features you might have missed.

And still not a way to quickly mark all as read...
Don't you do it the same way you always have? Display Mailbox, tap Edit, tap Select All, tap Mark?

But are there any new features that might make it worth using?

Wow carkey is a big deal. That should have its own article.
I’ve been waiting for that feature for a long time. Now we just need car companies to implement it.

Agreed.

I know Hyundai was waiting for Apple to open up the NFC for their digital key for the 2020 Sonata and possibly some of the Genesis series cars coming out.

I’m excited for the Sonata to get it because I’ll be getting their n-line sonata later this year once it’s released. The fact that the watch would support it is even a big deal for me. Super pumped.

You can do that: click Edit > Select All > Mark > Mark as Read

Finally iCloud folder sharing!
Now.. if only iCloud Drive would let me pick which folders are synced to my Mac(s) and which are just online storage...
If you right click a folder, I think you can select to Remove download, i.e. remove from your computer while storing it on iCloud (at least, it works like that in the Desktop and Documents folders).

Am I mistaken or is that contact image and phone controls in CarPlay while on a phone call new?

edit: maybe these are the car controls that Rene Richie was talking about?

CarKey??

YESSSSSS!!!! FINALLY!!!!

I am Super excited about this. Now, if I could just get the State of Florida to accept digital driver’s and concealed weapon permit licenses I’d be all set.

With CarKey, my HomeKit enabled smart lock, my digital insurance card, Apple Pay, and (one day) my digital licenses, I could leave the house with ONLY my Apple Watch!

No more bloated pockets or batman-esque utility belt!!!!!

I wish I could use my iPhone/Apple watch to unlock my appartement *NFC doorlock.
*Do it yourself lock
I’m most excited about CarKey. My dreams of only ever having to carry around my phone in my pocket is nearly complete.
I hope allows you to require ToichID FaceId, ideally on a per use basis as an option. Last thing
I want is to allow access to someone else without my permission. It would be a thief's dream for Apple to use location services to helpfully let you know you are near your car and ask if it should unlock once you get closer.

Definitely looking forward to shared folders. Was bummed when it didn’t come out with iOS 13. My wife and I usually share a folder with spreadsheets, latest important documents, and various other items.

Like others have said - can’t wait for a selective sync to come to iCloud.

I wonder if Mail can now... you know, get mail automatically again?
Why don't you start a thread asking people with mail problems to post their settings?
I appreciate some people have problems but there must be millions that don't and as all the hardware and software is identical, there may well be some common factor for you people that have problems.
I don't think it's going to be fixed by Apple because it isn't universal.
You may all be using the same carrier and it's carrier settings or something at that end.
For example I've found using IMAP, I have problems getting mail if I don't re-enter user and password manually in the settings.
When you set up the dialogue you enter it once but afterwards, you have to go in and enter it again under preferences> @accounts everywhere it says 'optional'.
My ISP says to do that and it does make a difference for me.
It could be really useful to collect data and look for patterns.

REQUESTS: Completely rehaul the Mail app as it’s god awful: Things allowing email Aliases and dedicated attachment field instead of inline.

Allow iCloud sharing outside of iCloud recipients. It’s useless for anything meaningful like when you want to share a document securely for work or business.

Carkey sounds nice. Wish they added a similar feature for smart locks with nfc.
Also can we please get emoji search (also can we get less emojis 🙏)

I presume it's only between ios13.4 users, and catalina - no backwards compatibility?

Did the article say iCloud sharing can’t be used outside of iCloud recipients?
