@svish Please tell me you will be placing an order for a new iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max. If you are about to say “No, I’ll wait till next year” I’m going to act like I didn’t read your comment 🙈❤️

Always like to see new bright colours for the Pro/Pro Max than Gold which is not really gold or Silver which is not really silver.

😉

Agreed. With everything I said, I do really love my 13 Pro. It feels like a very complete device, barring USB-C and AoD. It has excellent performance, battery, display, cameras, build quality. But the changes year over year are just too small to be exciting anymore.
With how the market is working (less customers are upgrading every year), this is the most affordable, but stable way forward for iPhone.

Why do none of your write-ups or even your iPhone 14 Roundup discuss whether or not it will include USB-C charging or continue using the Lightning port? The inclusion of USB-C or not is a big decision point for many people on whether or not they'll be upgrading to the iPhone 14.

I believe the commonly held belief is that USB-C will be coming with the iPhone 15.

Right, but your average consumer looking for this information shouldn't have to go searching for analyst reports to discover this information. Macrumors should be making a point to highlight this fact in their articles and Round-ups.

Same here... Don't think it's age either. They decimated the ecosystem they used to have and it's "seems" to be more about the dollars. Apple Monitor, Time Machine, Routers, and a few other things. I remember when...IT JUST WORKS, was a real thing. 😢
Agree on the “lesser” ecosystem. I mean take the router, it is practically the main hub of everything as it controlled all the devices’ internet access, and Apple pulled out of that market. You cannot claim all your devices work together well when you’re relying on a random router, which mostly are old modem/routers provided by people’s ISP. I bet majority of people are still on 802.11b/g or 2.4GHz n at home. AC is still uncommon, let alone wifi6.

I used my first Apple machine around the mid eighties, never looked back, even when others laughed at me and my so called toy! I've spent enough money on Apple products to run a small country. However, since around 2014/15 I never get that excited about announcements anymore. I'm not sure if that's age or just innovation has slowed....perhaps a bit of both.

Either way, it makes me feel a little sad.
Same.. probably an age thing, and realizing that life satisfaction does not revolve around hedonism. Maturity probably. I do miss looking forward to the next gadget release. Not been excited about the phone since the 7, and not in the watch since the 3 or so. Now that the intiel iMac is at the end, nothing to look forward to there either unless Windows goes all in on ARM so I can still run the apps I need to.

Time to upgrade my 12 mini for the 13 mini! I’ll get a better camera and longer battery life which is all I really want anyhow… I’ll go larger (if forced to by virtue of something compelling) in 2 years, but in the meantime, I’m going to love my lil’ phone.

I am of the same vintage and mind. Drank the koolaid in 1984, lived and worked in Silicon Valley for 30 years, last CA address was a bike ride from Apple HQ. I used to mark the reveals on my calendar and “watch” it live — and before streaming when just the reporters were tap tap tapping out on their keyboards what was unfolding in the private press-only events. Now I can completely forget it is happening and barely watch any of the recorded Keynote and just read the reviews. Nothing new has been announced for years. Like you, I streamed my paycheck to Apple for years, outfitting children with iPods, iPads, iPhones and the occasional computer. Personally, I like small devices—I have a 12 mini, iPad mini, 13” M1 MBP, and a 41 series 6 watch. My favorite rumored product is a 12” MB(P). But, I still ptobably won’t watch the Keynote.

September- My Favorite month of the year is almost here. I cannot wait! Rest assured, It is going to be one expensive month for this whole entire year. Get your wallets ready, folks!

iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple Watch Pro (All topped out/top tier models) Let's go!!! My soul and the bank account are more than ready for this. 🔥
You forget to mention the Kidney as well. 😂

Same! I used to get so excited about the keynotes! Nowadays I end up on my phone by the middle of it, because it doesn’t hold my interest. Same old stuff, slightly faster with a better camera. Lately I get more excited to buy stuff for the kitchen or the apartment. Bought an air fryer recently, changed my life lol #old
Yes the Ninja Foodi with SmartLid was more exciting :D

Just out of interest, what do you use your phone for that makes you prefer a smaller form factor?
Sorry I just saw this!

I use it for social media, YouTube, and all the usual common apps pretty much! I don’t take a TON of pictures, but when I do, I’m plenty satisfied with the quality as well. I just love the smaller size and how it fits in my hand. I came from the first iPhone SE, which I really loved for it’s size! But really don’t want to go any bigger than the 12/13 mini

Apple really has taken "Pro" out of Pro. It's only their ad word for "slightly better specs for those with too much money". Nothing to do with actual PRO, for any meaning of the word.
