The 13” M1 MBP has MagSafe, so why wouldn’t the M2 version?

Laptops are where MagSafe is truly useful, because laptops get plugged in in all kinds of precarious places. It is unlikely that after bringing back MagSafe Apple would not include it on future MBPs.

I haven't seen anything about the potential of MagSafe on the M2 MBPs, other than saying that it will have the same chassis as the 13" M1 MBPs.

Is that saying no MagSafe? That sucks.

Unless I totally missed something, the 2020 13" MBP does NOT have MagSafe.

You might be confusing the 2020 13" MBP with the 14" and 16" MBP from 2021, which were the first MBPs to have MagSafe since it was removed on the horrible 2016 MBP redesign.

Maybe you are right, but if the chassis isn't changing, I would think that would include MagSafe, or lack of one.

Hopefully you are correct. Apple was silly to remove it from their laptop line.

Snooze. Sounds just like the standard annual speed bump-ups but no exciting innovations.

Let's face it: Apple is BY FAR not as an exciting company as some people would like to believe.

Still can’t believe the M2 MBP is a six-year-old body.

I’m sure they’re just milking the manufacturing but what an awkward lineup.

Can't help but wonder how long these old molds keep holding up? Aren't they worn out after hundreds of millions of chassis pressed during the past 6 years?

What about an Apple TV with M1 chip and 10 gigabit ethernet? It would be nice to have a streaming device that can process a lossless 4K blue ray rip over the network with power to spare.

I'm preparing for disappointment, hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
I'm hoping for disappointment. ...that way even if they do something great, I'll still be disappointed in being let down by that. Maybe then I'll finally feel some satisfaction.

I'm curious to see if they can get the M2 chip to make a similar leap in performance, or if the gains aren't repeatable and come back down to earth. Maybe in another ten years when my intel macs kick the bucket I'll be ready to switch. ...but I doubt it, bc if I wanted a mac that's fast and can't run windows, I'd just use an iPad, (conceivably someone would start making some professional design software specifically for it) which I'd rather use than a notebook anyway. I guess I'm not sure what purpose the ARM mac actually serves, when I think about it.

Why are new case colors on this list?
…..Because the article headline literally says “Everything we expect to see from the Apple event on March 8….”

Which clearly includes accessories that have been rumored for this event.

for the products listed in this article - not worthwhile having an event ... there better be a surprise
Well, there's really a huge mass of people who upon reflection buy and use the bread'n'butter hardware. In terms of units sold those are all items that drive a huge part of Apple's revenue and their reception by users is critical. Don't be a snob.
