if the m2 is ready and the new mac mini design is ready, then there is no reason why an m2 mac mini can't be released as well

Maybe. The processor is powerful enough for what I want to do and I can get the memory amount that I want, but I would need to get a monitor and I have NO idea what monitor and keyboard is the best to use with a Mac Mini. I probably wouldn't like something less than the 5K monitor that my iMac currently has. The keyboard I have is a wireless Apple that isn't very old so I may not need anything there.
get a Keychron keyboard

Shockingly, mostly people who go to a website called "MacRumors" actually find Apple's product range exciting.
I agree, but some of the stuff is getting pretty long in the tooth, how many years in a row can they sell the iPhone 6? iOS is really quite boring and in need of a massive UI shot in the arm. I have been buying Apple gear since the mid 2000's and it lasts forever and I love all of it and I am most decidedly a fan boy but I would love to see some excitement around the mobile space the way there is finally some excitement around the Macs.

It’s a low-end product, and I think they’re also targeting it a bit towards people who aren’t into the post-Home Button era.

But I don’t think it’s fair to judge the iPhone based on the SE.

Maybe. I thought their Big Sur redesign is… too bland. Too lifeless. I hope they find something a bit more vivid again. Not iOS 6-like linen everywhere, though.

Let's face it: Apple is BY FAR not as an exciting a company as some people would like to believe.

Apple products don’t need to be a multi-orgasmic thrill ride to be great. They have this timeless design that I appreciate, to the point where I would still happily use an older iPhone 8+ design if Apple ever did update the innards. They are backed by the full weight of the Apple ecosystem, and they work the way I need them to.

Take the M1 MBA for example. It’s thin and light, with great performance, long battery life and practically nonexistent heat generation. It’s really all I need in a laptop, and fast forward 1.5 years, no other intel laptop comes anywhere near to matching it. It doesn’t matter what gimmicks the OEMs come up with if they can’t get the fundamentals right.

What Apple does end up announcing next week will likely not break any new ground (they will probably save the AR headset for WWDC), but they will be very welcome additions that people can order, and have a genuine use for, and that’s really all I ask for from Apple at this point.

M1 Max Mac mini is what I am waiting on, but also excited to see what these Mac Studio rumors might be all about...
I can't wait to retire my space heater / jet engine 2019 15" i9 MBP. Time for more muscle in a whisper quiet package. ??????

So why are you posting on a website dedicated to Apple and its products?
Because I have a MacBook Pro 2018 as my main machine (2200usd purchase price at that time) and it has a really, really bad keyboard (keys too hard, hurts my finger joints, many keys already damaged due to bad quality of the plastic coating, etc), the battery is worn down to below 80% capacity, it's slow to the point that I had to reduce window animation in the Settings, yet, there's nothing worth upgrading to. I can get my work done good enough. Since 4 years Apple has not released a new laptop in the same category that's worth retiring this 2018 machine, adding it to the global garbage pile. Just for example, the latest Macbook Pro has just 2 ports, that's laughable. I already have all the cables and dongles, I'm not going to buy a hub in addition to a 2021 laptop. All the "new" MacBook Pro's have the same old screen technology, so that's nothing to upgrade to either. Therefore I'm on this website waiting, on the lookout, if the richest company on this planet will some day come out with a worthy replacement for their 2018 product.

My 2021 MBP M1 Max has more than 2 ports (3 USB-C, in fact, plus magsafe, HDMI and SD), and is a way better machine than a 2018 MBP. Nor is the screen technology ”the same old.” It’s a completely new screen technology, unless you had some prototype 2018 MBP with mini-LED that never made it to market. The audio is on a completely different level, performance is much faster, battery lasts almost twice as long, it doesn’t burn my lap, the keyboard is scissors instead of the ****** butterfly from 2018, etc.

So, what are you actually talking about?

Great news if you were in a coma during Oct. of 2021--there's brand new MBP's out that address everything you just mentioned.

WOW. I hope this is not the future of macOS ? 13?

Dam. you can keep your Apple Silicon Macs if this is the case.

LOOKS more and more like IOS. IOS 15.

If I wanted an iPad instead of a Mac Computer I would have bought one.

Man. This sucks.

It's Sunday morning... MR has time for at least 12 more "What we know" and "What to expect" posts before the event that illustrate that absolutely NOTHING is "KNOWN" and we "EXPECT" the same things we expected a month ago.

This really is getting comical.

Many people I've spoken to say they get bad headaches using Apple devices. When will Apple address that issue? Until then, all products they put out are meaningless for me.
While I've been using Apple products in the home exclusively for 21 years without issue, I concede that anecdotal "evidence" is unreliable at best.

Apple has a no-strings-attached, two-week return policy.

Thus, this would be an easy fact-check for you to sniff out the "fake news" about that.

Apple's products are mature, so I don't expect them to change enough to blow my mind, let alone EVERY YEAR. Their release cycle is also somewhat predictable.

I enjoy and look forward to their events, but I try to keep my expectations in check.

I don't understand people getting bent out of shape over them, unless Apple starts repeating their major blunders (Tube MP, butterfly kb, TouchBar, etc.).

Maybe Apple will just release the M2 chip and then update the Mac mini, MacBook Air, and base model MacBook Pro 13". Similar to what they did with the keynote for M1 came out. These 3 seem to be in a similar category. But lets see on Tuesday.
