Boring grandpa Tim will enter the stage with his weird praying 🙏 hands mannerism pose. Just praying we all are falling for it.

I have grown tired of this style of taught body language. It reeks of insincerity, fakeness and dishonesty.

Don’t forget that televangelist Tim’s god is Mammon.

After what happened at Computex 2024 last week I think Apple will have to talk about new hardware. Otherwise it will appear like Apple is falling behind in performance per watt to the likes of AMD, Qualcomm, and -- gulp -- perhaps even Intel. Apple may not be ready to introduce new hardware products at WWDC, but I think they will discuss the coming M4 Pro, Max, and Ultra. They may even announce dates for product availability.

I know, this would be very unusual for Apple but it looks like Apple silicon finally has serious competition and Mac sales could plummet if they don't mount a response by summer 2024. Then again, maybe they don't care about Mac sales since it is such a small part of their revenue.

Combine this will Apple's apparent lateness to the AI "party" and things aren't looking too good for Apple right now.

I’m looking forward to the passwords app. Been using 1Password 7 forever and I refuse to move to 8 with their subscription model. I also know of several family and friends that still write all their passwords on paper so I’ll def push this app on them.

& yea 1Password and all those others are getting sherlocked. Meh, serves them for trying to milk the users dry.

Call me boring, but I'm most excited about Reminders integration in Calendar and the old-school icons and slogans in wallpapers. (lol)

Shout out to Clarus 🐄 and the floppy icon 💾.

I only hope tvos gets really well integrated AI Siri with 3rd party apps to fully control the tv with the voice for turning on and off, opening third party apps and searching and playing content on 3P apps

I’m glad you’ll be able to turn off the A.I. Feature in iOS 18. I know it’s all the rage now, but I’m not a fan. Especially since you have to pay to use it. I’m sure many businesses want to be a part of it, but as a consumer? Or even a creator, I’ll pass. Nothing against new technology. I love my gadgets, and as an artist, my iPad, is my main content creation device. I’m just not into the look or ethics of most A.I. generated art.

Remembering his murdered out black Air Forces from the last event. 👊

With Apple looking more and more to get monthly revenue, I have a feeling this will include some sort of subscription with it.

I would like to see an update for Apple displays. XDR 2.0 and maybe an ASD 30". Better yet would be drop in half the price of the current XDR. Wishful thinking, I guess. lol

Apple's 35th annual Worldwide Developers Conference is just a few days away, kicking off on Monday, June 10 with a keynote event at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Apple plans to introduce iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, visionOS 2, and HomePod Software 18. No hardware is expected this year, with the focus set to be on software.

We've rounded up all of the rumors about the software features that Apple will unveil at WWDC, but there will still be plenty of surprises given the scope of the updates.

iOS 18 and iPadOS 18

All of Apple's software updates will include a wide range of new features powered by artificial intelligence, but we've heard the most about iOS 18. The AI additions in iOS 18 are expected to make this the biggest software refresh that we've had in years, with Apple set to call its AI features "Apple Intelligence."

All of Apple's AI additions will be introduced in a beta capacity so that Apple can test them before revealing them as full features, and everything will be opt-in, so people can decide not to use AI. Some features will be handled on-device, while some will be handled in the cloud, with Apple set to tout the security and privacy of the hardware that it's using for its cloud servers.

Siri and Spotlight

Apple is expected to use large language models (LLMs) to train Siri, which will theoretically result in major improvements to the personal assistant. LLMs are the backbone of popular AI offerings like OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Rumors suggest that Siri will have a more casual, conversational feel, with a more natural voice. Siri will be able to do more than before, taking into account people, companies, calendar events, locations, and dates. Apple plans to give Siri control over individual features in apps, so Siri will be able to perform specific functions in apps that aren't possible today. Siri will, for example, be able to open specific documents, move files from one folder to another, delete an email, edit a photo, and summarize messages, notifications, and articles.

To enable these capabilities, Apple had to rearchitect Siri's underlying software. While Apple will likely show off these features at WWDC, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman does not believe the updated Siri experience will launch with the first version of iOS 18 in September. Instead, it will come in a future version of iOS 18 in 2025.

The Siri update will be accompanied by a refreshed version of Spotlight search on iPhones and iPads, with more intelligent results and improved sorting.

OpenAI Deal

Apple has inked a deal with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT technology into iOS 18, because Apple does not plan to build its own chatbot at this time. ChatGPT will be an opt-in feature for iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 users.

Some Apple executives have had reservations about integrating a chatbot into the operating system, but Apple moved forward with it because customers may be expecting that kind of AI technology given its prevalence. OpenAI technology will also power some of the other AI features that Apple plans to introduce.

New App Features

Apple is bringing AI features to many of its built-in apps, and the additions that we've heard about so far are listed below. There are likely to be other AI features that haven't made it to the rumor mill... Click here to read rest of article

So I've watched a handful of these here's what to expect from Dub-Dub and I have to say boring. Most of what iOS is getting for iPhone are things Android has had for years and years. Apple going to let you use your iPhone how you want and not be dictated to. The AI stuff is gimmicky little things and only a couple look like serious tools to improve productivity. Apples trying to play catchup in the AI world and their answer is just a handful of small features for existing apps. Maybe they will come up with a tool that counts the number of times Apple says AI in all their PR and events.

Hmm, I am somehow reminded of a few proverbs:

- Sophocles :”Foes’ gifts are no gifts: profit bring they none.”
- Matthew 7:15 :”Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing”

Sure, Tim is a successful CEO. However, his coached body language, repetitive hand gestures and harmless attire - cues copied from Steve Jobs - do not raise his credibility but for the feeble minded. His faux approachability is - like iOS - getting old.

I think it’d be an improvement for all the Apple executives in the keynotes to dress in Victorian-era clothing and not at all acknowledge it.

How hilarious would it be to see Tim Cook come out onstage wearing this and pitch all the fanatic AI features and software updates coming out? It’d be hilarious.

I’ll take that bet, passwords as part of icloud via keychain (all icloud options, including free tier) are a big selling point of the seamless “just works” nature of the ecosystem, a standalone app is basically just a GUI for that, I have serious doubts it‘ll be tied to a subscription

Obviously there’s a middle ground. Daniel Craig comes to mind as a guy who spends some money on his clothes but still looks modern and stylish. The problem at Apple is that Steve Jobs set the slob template. That lame turtleneck, the ill-fitting jeans (before he got sick) and flat, scuffed up tennis shoes. In Job’s case it was just a part of his weird personality but every other CEO who copies that template is doing it to try and put customers at ease. “Hey! I’m just a normal guy! I could be your next door neighbor.”

You’re not fooling us, CEOs.
