My favorite case since the iPhone 6 is available now for the iPhone XS Max 6.5 inch. The Evutec AER Karbon black (and a few variations) will be available at Target starting 10/14. The guy in the tech dept. was cool enough to pull one from the back for me.
In the past, there’s been questions of which is the better case, Evutec or Pitaka. I lean towards the Evutec for the following reasons:
Outside of the comparison, here’s a few other reasons I like the case in general:
- Full four side coverage
- Gripped ridges on the side to make it easy to pick up and hold
While their customer service is not very good, they make such a darn good case that I let it go.
- Really thin case, only 0.7mm thick
- Includes magnetic car mount with metal plate built into case. (Does not interfere with wireless charging)
- Protective for at least 6 ft. Dropped my phone plenty of times in the past onto concrete with no damage
- Slips in and out out pockets easily yet still is grippy to hold from sides and back
- 100% real carbon fiber
- Just enough lip to protect the front but does not interfere with side and bottom gestures (I have a iCarez 3D screen protector on so that helps lift it up as well)
FYI seems like the bamboo and the Northill series will be in stock same date.

Is the back of the case flat? I kno
Is the back of the case flat? I know a guy who has a case like this for is iPhone 7 plus and the back had like an arch to it instead of being straight flat smooth. I have been waiting for this case to come out since I got my phone.
I just picked it up yesterday and it is very nice. I def like it more with the car mount. My one concern is the side button. It sort of feels squishy/soft compared to the volume buttons. The volume buttons seem great and have a good amount of stiffness when you push down on them unlike the side button. Do you have same thing?Yes, it's flat.
I also purchased this on Sunday @ my local Target and it is by far and away my favorite case. I've used it as my go to case for my previous three phones. Checks all my boxes for what I'm looking for in a case. So happy I got it![]()

I am currently using the Apple leather case for my iPhone XS Max . I wanted to get additional protection to cover the bottom. At first I was interested in the Pitaka Mag Pro but it seems pretty bulky in the corners . The AER Karbon , how much more bulk / protection is this compared to the Apple leather . Seems more of a deal than the Pitaka since it comes with the mag holder
It's about the same width wise, but it is a slimmer case than the Apple leather case in regards to the profile.
My case also has a “mushy” power button compared to the volume buttons, but I can’t really see it becoming an issue.
Found an easy fix for this. Used one of those 3M mounting pad stickers and just cut a small sliver to attach inside the power button. Now it's just as good as the volume buttons. Don't know how Evutec messed up the power button, when the Aer for the X was fine.
