I wish it was possible to exclude whole sub-forums from the unread section on Macrumors. Within seconds it's filled with dozens of new topics, which aren't relevant for me

You can exclude forums from your search if you are using the New Quotes feature. In your User CP>Options.

Just to add on to rdowns post... if you go to the main forums list and mouse hover over a forum title you can see the forum number in the browser status bar at the bottom. For example here is forum #154 the iOS5 forum.

Excluding entire forums from the unread section

Thanks for the advice. I did as rdowns said, but in tapatalk in the unread section, threads from excluded forums keep showing.

That list is even longer. Is there some difference how tapatalk is handling the unread section?

Those settings don't carry over to Tapatalk for me either.

That's a pity, 'cause tapatalk is my main client for forums. I don't use web interfaces unless I have to. I have to sort through my favorite forums manually then.

I certainly hope forum admins will solve this

This is a Tapatalk issue. We don't control tapatalk, so can't do anything about it.
