This is a serious thread. I forked out over 3000 GBP on my MBP. What do I tell the Mrs? How do I tell her that I can't feed the family for the next month?
Tell her you fell for Apple's brilliant marketing "tricks".

And also let her know that she's going to need to start pulling "tricks" on the street corner to feed the fam....

I think it is best to be honest ahead of time. I see no reason to lie or try and manipulate a spouse. Doing that isn't good for the marriage. Large purchases should be discussed and agreed upon as a couple, in my opinion.

This. We now have an agreement that any single purchase over €100 needs to be discussed. However, I also let her know that I reactivated my Spotify sub and we have each others passwords to everything. It’s all about transparency.

I knew that, but the scary thing is there are people who will do just that, and then some. Hell, I personally know people who buy cars and houses without telling the other half until after the fact. "Hey honey, we have a new Merc."
