Lol. I'm not butthurt at all. I actually find you very humorous, in a sad way. And your post just proved my point exactly. The answers you are looking for are posted in one if the threads you've already crapper in. Go find them.

sounds like your butthurt

If you think its so ugly and the OP got ripped off, why are you the single biggest contributor this thread? I'm sure there are other places you can troll or have you made your round already?

Maybe he is the butt hurt one cause he cannot afford such a kick ass case!

My review and pics of the Exo5

Hi All,

Exovault EXO5 Screw Shut Engraved

First off this company has been on the ball from my first contact with them to the shipment of the product. (Granted they better be for 175$). They shipped my case 2 weeks to the day after I ordered. I have only had this case for a couple of hours now and will give my key observations:

1) The craftmanship is nothing short of stellar. You can see the attention to detail and care taken in the design and manufacturing of the case. Aside from gold and diamonds this may be the nicest case out there. It is certainly machined to very tight tolerances as suggested by Daniel at Exovault. So tight in fact I do not think you could have any skin/wrap around the stainless steal antennas. It won't fit! I do however have Bodyguardz skins on the front and back. It is just slightly to thick with both of them on. I have been able to leave both in place and simply "lightly" tighten the screws. If I tighten them all the way it will ever so slightly bow the top piece and cause a very small gap along the sides at the seam. I may still remove the back skin but for now I have it in there just nicely with both skins.

2) The inside is lined ith a thin rubber type material, since I didn't ask what it is I cannot say for sure. This lining in everywhere except on the wood inlay.

3) The material is very thin and the space for the connector seems adequate. I do not have any third party connectors at home so I have yet to test one. I have one at work I will test tomorrow and add to this post. From the looks of it I am going to guess it will fit fine.

4) Someone posted that because the metal came all the way to the edges of the screen it would impede typing. I imagine if you have a regular fat finger issue this might get annoying. I have had no issue so far.

5) Ok here is the biggie - Signal Strength- I live in a low signal side of town. Actually around my house seems to be the lowest in town. I put the phone into field test mode and as usual my signal is about -96 to -98. This is roughly 2 bars. I put the case on and in the same spot sitting on the table the signal dropped to -103 to -106. -109 when I took the second pic in my living room. So here is a bad signal location and a little signal degradation but I can still send and receive calls as I normally do. Now out and around town this evening I check the phone constantly and sa no real significant signal strength change. A few db here and there, yes, making the phone useless, NO!

6) I guess I should mention the camera and flash are uninhibited by the case.

7) It comes with 2 extra screws and the tool.

I cannot think of anything more that is really important however I am happy to answer anyone questions I did not address in this post. Post a reply or send me a pm and I will answer what I can.

I have to admit, this case does look unique and it's cool because I know your not going to be walking around and someone else is going to have the same one. The only downside seems to be your reception issue. If it wasn't for that I might have taken this case into consideration.

Actually today I really have not noticed any real impact on the signal. I may have lost a bar here or there but I did not notice it. Made and received calls as I usually do today with no noticable difference.

Unhappy with Exovault

I'm going to post this as a separate thread as well.

Was very excited about Exovault cases, so when the iPhone 4 came out I jumped all over it.

1. They completely lagged and took forever to get it to me. Like, a month. No excuse. Slow, fly-by-night company.

2. FINALLY got it, literally over a month after I ordered it, maybe longer. It completely KILLED MY RECEPTION. I did multiple tests, and no matter what I did, it DEFINITELY killed my reception. Therefore it's totally useless to me.

3. Tried returning it, they claim it never arrived, I say BS. So, this God damn company sells a case that doesn't even work without killing reception completely, but now they're telling me they never got the return? NONSENSE.

4. I'm reporting them to BBB and whoever I can that will listen.

Good luck with Exovault, all they'll do is prove that your friends are right and that paying this much for a case is STUPID. Especially this company.

Well, my Exovault shipped today. Just over 2 weeks from ordering. I'm looking forward to checking it out. I've only read one negative review in all the searching I've done and it's the one above. I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a rotten time. I hate getting screwed over.

Here are some Pics Of the Exo5 in Black hinged version.

Here is a break down of my impressions of the Exo5.
Ok, so I love the look and feel of the case. It is so well made and fits really well it's easy to see why they charge what they do. It looks great on and fits your Iphone like a glove. Here are the things I like
1. Looks awesome, really! it looks good!
2. Really well made.
3. This case screams quality. All seams line up 100%
4. The hinged version makes it so easy to get the IPhone in and out of the case.
5. It adds very little bulk to you IPhone and yet seems like solid protection.
6. It provides all around protection for you iphone as it covers everything except the screen.
7. All ports are nice and wide so that it fits all of my accessories.
Did I mention that it looked great? : )

Now for what I don't like.

1. Because it fits so well you can't use an all body skin on your IPhone.
2. This case like all other metal cases affects your reception!!!
I have noticed differences in my 3G, wifi and phone signal. The weird thing is it Isn't constant..........I can have 4 bars then 2 bars in the same spot. I think this can be improved with a shield around the sides of the antenna. I will have to mod the case to make this possible, because of the exact fit.

The case comes with a black plastic liner covering the inside of the case, front and back. It reminds me of black electric tape.
I removed this material off the inside of the front cover and am now able to use my SGP screen shield again. :D
As far as having the Iphone rub up against the sides when it's being installed or removed I have no problems with that at all. There are no scary grinding noises when the IPhone is being installed or removed.
This case is great and I really like it. I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you live in an area with great coverage as with all metal cases.
Sorry about the pics. My Macro lens will be here this week.
