Just be prepared for lines if you go early in the morning when it opens and depending on your area. But hey I guess that's all a part of the thrill of getting your product day one.

I did this last year and it was a little chaotic because the CC was right across the street from where the trucks depart. I was the third person there, but the driver was late brining them over because of course, I wasn't the only one who preferred this option instead of waiting all day for UPS to deliver, not to mention UPS being slammed that day. By the time he got there, there were like 40 people waiting and we still had to wait for those items to be brought in and scanned. They eventually had people sign on a piece of paper and show ID.

Overall not a bad experience, chatted it up with a few other Apple enthusiasts about their orders, etc. much preferred than waiting at home or going to an Apple Store on a day one product launch.

Ha, looks like we were at the same store..you in Raleigh?

check you local UPS store, The UPS truck hits the store in my town by 9AM every day.

I have any major UPS delivery held at the hub (which is very close to where I work). Depending on the driver, UPS can show up at my house anywhere from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It's not worth staying home for that, and having it held means I can pop over to UPS at 9:30 when it opens and pick up my parcel. No fuss, no bother, no missing work.

Exactly. I'm not going to skip work all day for a phone.

 Your post was ironically similar and at the same time....but yessir, I was there at the Raleigh location. Did you get a 6S/6S Plus this year?

Haha yeah, I thought it was funny we posted about the same place one minute apart. Anyways, I went for the plus this year, coming from a 6. Mainly because with Apple Watch the number of times I pull out my phone to just look at a notification is way less so I might as well have a larger display for those times when I am actually using it.

I picked up my Apple Watch at the local hub same day, after requesting the hold through MyUPS. I just set this up for my and my wife's iPhones. However, I checked with UPS Chat and learned that only the named package recipient can pick up the phones. ID must be presented. Check your shipment tracking to make sure you are the one named before heading down there. In my case, my wife is named for both, so she has to get them. She is the primary on our AT&T account and she was named automatically.

Make sure your ID has the same name and address that the phone is being delivered to. I picked my phone up at the hub last year and I saw a few people who couldn't get theirs because their address on their ID was different than the shipping address, or they had a different name. There was a line when I went in the morning, but it wasn't terrible.

Different name as in first name and/or last name?

My local UPS station is in Maspeth NY. I had one package previously held there years ago for pick up. Let's just say, I'll never be doing that again. I rather get my iPhone the following week than wait in line with a bunch of unemployed bozos.

Perhaps, if I lived it another city or state with less traffic/people, picking up at the UPS hub would be a 5-10min ordeal, but I'm not about wait hours in line.

I just changed mine to pick up at UPS hub/customer center. It's on my way home from work so I'm set.

Anyone else picking theirs up in Memphis?

picking mine up at the UPS Hub too near my house in California (Bay Area) however they don't open until 11:30 am...........:( but still better than waiting all day for the phone!!!

Nice. I decided to wait it out another year. Same plan of action at the UPS again this year? Maybe this time it'll be a little more organized..

Still deciding, I held it there but I'm probably going to wait till 9:30 or so to get there to hopefully not have to wait for anything. We'll see.

Question, yesterday I scheduled to have my iPhone stay at the local UPS facility for pickup.

I just an updated email from UPS stating (I put in a pic)

Does that mean that the iPhone will be delivered at the local store today by the end of the day? Or just by tomorrow?

Probably depends on the people working, but if you want it to go smoothly i'd suggest having the person its being shipped to be the person picking it up and make sure the addresses match. When I went, Someone was trying to pick up for their mom and they wouldn't let him, they needed her ID... Someone else had a different address on their ID (they had it shipped to their apartment but had a more permanent address on their ID). Both were refused.

EOD tomorrow, but the trucks tend to hit the stores earlier in the day, so you may have it by lunchtime.

I just called UPS around 8:30am EST today and set my 6s to pick up at the local UPS CC here, but the closest one in Chapel Hill NC doesn't open until 3pm...

But my UPS order wasn't set to be delivered until EOD tomorrow anyway so I'm happy. Plus it gives me time to send out my current phone to Nextworth and hopefully get paid soon :D

Since TUESDAY, the tracking info on mine has said "9/22 Departure Scan 8:31am Harrisburg PA." I live in CT. It doesn't take three days for a truck to get from Harrisburg to CT. Could it be sitting in a warehouse somewhere and the'll magically change tracking info to "Out for delivery" sometime tomorrow morning?
