False, my official Apple leather case most certainly has a lip to protect the phone from touching surfaces, this can also be seen in all pics and video reviews of the case. Please don't post blatant misinformation.

I was not trying to spread misinformation. Rather my perception of the case on my 5S seemed to have very little "Case" protruding from the front (less than 1mm) to protect the screen during a fall/drop. The leather case didn't wrap around the front chamfered edge as well as the Tough Armor case I purchased, so I decided to keep that latter. Just expressing my personal experience and preference.

I heard they wear really easily. Making it look less classy. Anyone have experience with this? More in particular the blue one?

I've a black and it is what it is. Too soon to show any wear but fits perfectly and such. Not all that concerned with wear. If anything the black currently looks kind of plasticky and I am hoping to scuff it a but to look worn.

I ordered a black one and tried it on the 5S. I wasn't happy with it, as it did not seem to offer much screen protection (no lip to keep the screen from touching surfaces.)

That's pretty much a blatant falsehood. "No lip to keep the screen from touching surfaces." is not an opinion.

- If you drop it on a flat surface, the lip is there and the screen would not be touched.
- If you dropped it onto something not flat, a lip is not going to have boo protection going for it.

What kind surface are you imagining a drop onto?

I bought a brown one HOPING it will wear and age like good leather does. I don't like the shade of brown it is currently, but I'm hoping it will darken up with the oils from my hands and after a few months look really nice and broken in. Time will tell though, since it hasn't been out long enough for that to happen. I am not sure a lot of people understand the end game with leather, and a lot of other materials, and how age and wear add beauty and character. Many people expect everything to stay new and flawless these days.

You I like. :D

Designing accessory products that look better with use is important - they stay relevant and avoid the waste stream longer. Leather should age, gracefully, just like the cases I make :)

There is always a good and both with a case. There is no perfect case. Find one that YOU like and don't be mislead by what you read online. After all it's just a case. If you don't like it, I'm pretty positive you can return it.

It was a bugger to get back off the phone because it's fit was so tight. I sent it back and got a Spigen Tough Armor, which I prefer over the leather case.

Wrong their is a lip. Is easy to get off when you know how, Tough Armor is not much easier i have both.
Apple case is nicer to hold, smaller, lighter, buttons are easier and no hole in the back.
My spigen tough Armor is on eBay:)

X3. And 2 weeks no scuff. Perfect case. IMO.

I have two of the black Apple leather cases. One is on my son's black/slate iPhone 5, and the other is on my space grey iPhone 5s. We love them. The feel is great, the fit is great, and the look is great.

Same as me and my son:)
