Seems like it'll be best if you wait! And if there's an update..... 95% it'll also be casing and 45% the range name (MacBook) as well!

The problem is next-day delivery is $47 or so... And two day shipping is a tad risky due to the fact that it says *will arrive somewhere between August 9th and 19th*. I can't risk it taking longer, you know? =(
Then I'd have spent over one hundred dollars only to have to wait another year to get my HDD. =(

i buy alot of things from amazon with my free prime membership, you get free 2 day shipping or 1 day for $4 :)

try this Iomega 500gb for $95 right now- http://www.amazon.com/Iomega-Deskto...ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1218005035&sr=1-2

or this seagate 500gb for $100 sold by amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-ST305...ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1218005035&sr=1-9

but really i think you should go with this http://www.amazon.com/Iomega-UltraM...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1218005515&sr=8-2

Again, for how long have you had it?
Ever had any problems with it? Does it feel flimsy or sturdy?

Also, does it shut off when the HDD has been innactive for a while? I'm wondering because, if I get it for Time Machine, I wouldn't have to remember to turn it on every hour. :p
And I'd like to know it could take that kind of hard labor every day. =)

I have had it since last fall, no problems with it so far.

I only use it for TM, and I keep it unplugged except when I am using it, but have never had it shut off.

I know on paper USB 2.0 is faster than Firewire 400, but I find USB to work terrible, firewire is definitely a more constant connection every time.
