Hey guys,

I didn't want to make a thread about this, but I've spent the past 60minutes looking for an official place from Apple to download MacOS High Sierra.

I literally saw MacOS High Sierra on the Mac App Store a few days ago, but it no longer appears on the Mac App Store. The only MacOS I could find was MacOS Montery...

I had everything setup so I could download and install MacOS High Sierra today so this is an extreme problem for me.
?
Thank you for any advice!

Download MDS from TwoCanoes

Run MDS and select 'Download macOS' from the left hand panel.

You should be able to see and download 041-91758 17G66 macOS High Sierra 10.13.6

That is an 'Official Apple Source' as the app downloads the files from the Apple Servers.

I just started a download for High Sierra and it is coming from -- https://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads
Thanks for your reply Dave, but I'm getting this error:

This swcdn.apple.com page can’t be found

Take a look at the links I posted here and use the AppleScript in the last post if the High Sierra link does not work directly

Thanks for your reply Bogdanw, but is there another easier option for me?

It seems so strange that MacOS High Sierra is so hard to download... ?

The direct link https://apps.apple.com/app/id1246284741?mt=12 does not work at the moment because of some problems at Apple.
This AppleScript opens the link directly into the App Store and allows you to download it
Code:
tell application "App Store"
    activate
    open location "https://apps.apple.com/app/id1246284741?mt=12"
end tell
or you can try from Terminal:
open "x-apple.systempreferences:com.apple.preferences.softwareupdate?installMajorOSVersion=10.13.6"

So you're saying it's just temporarily down because of Apple??? It just seems so strange that it's unavailable for me to download just when I need it! ?

Does anyone know when the Apple servers will be back and when MacOS High Sierra will be downloadable?

Is it possible for me to download MacOS High Sierra from an official Apple source on a Windows 10 PC?

The link can't be opened in Safari at the moment, but you can use the AppleScript that opens the link in the App Store, press Get and download High Sierra right now.
On a Windows PC, you can use https://github.com/corpnewt/gibMacOS It downloads the files from Apple.

Use Safari to download macOS on your Mac

Safari uses these links to find the old installers in the App Store. After you download the installer from the App Store, the installer opens automatically.
  • macOS Big Sur 11 can upgrade Catalina, Mojave, High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks
  • macOS Catalina 10.15 can upgrade Mojave, High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks
  • macOS Mojave 10.14 can upgrade High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion
  • macOS High Sierra 10.13 can upgrade Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion
-KM Edit to add: These usually reliable links are just not working. Sorry!

Thank you for your reply NC12!

I looked at your link, but isn't that only a security update for High Sierra that's installed by the user AFTER High Sierra has been installed?

It's not just High Sierra missing. The only DL link that works is Monterey. I have no idea what Apple is doing on this page:

I have relied heavily on it.

Possibly related thread:

See post #17 and subsequent in particular.

Short answer: a big security vulnerability came out on Thursday, and companies are scrambling to fix their websites. You should probably expect some problems for some days to come, until things are patched up.
