I don't want to scare you, but Renault F1 are from Oxford, England.

Isn't that where King Charles I & Olivor Cromwell both had their heads chopped off??

Long live Schumi :D

I'm dissapointed in Alonso's whining - he needs to shut up and try to win races.

Unless Schu has one of his very rare retirements I see him taking this race.

...Maybe Alonso will take a page from Schu's book and try to crash him out.

Agreed.

It's extremely close in free practice. Both Ferrari and Renault looking strong.

What's good for the goose.... :)

Actually it would be hugely ironic if Schumacher didn't get this championship due to someone punting him off.

Read on the headlines that Alonso felt kinda alone after china gp. Imagine Fisi saying: so you feel like you are alone. so?

[Alon-so...get it? Ok ok it's lame.....]

Oh well, Ferrari 1st and 2nd in qualifiers with Alonso 5th. I think its Ferrari's day tomorrow.

A crushing quail. defeat for Alonso & Renault? The 2 Toyotas in front of Alonso & Fisi are nothing but moble blockers for Schumi & Massa.

Nice to see Ralph S. helping his brother to his final F1 Championship. Goodbye Alonso. :D

Too bad about Kimi though. That McLaren was clearly a dog all weekend.

Wow. I guess that's it for Schumey then?

Not like him to have bad luck. He's normally extremely lucky.

At least he said that in his post race interview (ITV).

Gotta admit I never thought Schumi would have an engine failure!

According to grandprix.com he hasn't had this happen to him since the French G.P. in 2000 - six years ago. :(

But it is pretty obvious that he is ready to retire. Did anyone notice the TV broadcast of him walking into his pit garage after, smiling, relaxed, talking. Any other year he would have been bashing his helmet off the walls, etc. etc.

And he said post race that Alonso would be the WDC winner. So no way any of you Schumi haters can say he plans to crash Alonso out of the Brazil race. It is pretty clear though that Ferrari is still going to try for a 1-2 in Brazil in a last ditch attempt to win the WCC :D

According to everyone else it was the US GP in 2001.

Go to the *official* FIA website - www.fia.com

Select FIA Archive
Choose 2001
Choose Formula One World Championship
Choose United States Grand Prix
Select 'Race Results' - Downloadable PDF only

Schumi came in 2nd, 'Mika' won that race. Kinda hard to come in 2nd with a 'blown motor' during the race wouldn't you say? :D :D :D

After doing the above - retry with 2000, Grandprix of France. Except choose 'race facts' instead

->Lap 59: Michael Schumacher retires with a engine problem

There ya have it. The FIA Official Race Results for both races. Perhaps you should point out these facts to your F1 web-sites so they can get it right.

Well, everyone else is wrong. He finished 2nd in that race. Clicky.

Of course they're wrong Counterfit :D

At the 2001 US GP. Schumi's engine 'toasted itself' on the cool down lap after the race was over (where he finished 2nd). -> Who cares? No points loss. :D

So I stand by what grandprix.com & the FIA officially confirms!!! Schumi has not had an 'in race engine failure' since the French GP in July of 2000 :p

There is still a mathematical chance for Schumacher to win the title ... the reverse just needs to happen to Alonso at Brazil.....

Yep, the fat lady is ready to belt one out. Didn't someone speculate about a DNF earlier. Bastard. :D

...That would be me.

I've never been one for prophecy, but what a time to start!

I'll hazard another prediction -

Schumi and Alonso start on the front row in Brazil...they drag race to turn 1, Alonso is slightly ahead. Schumi's right front brushes Alonso's left rear - Alonso loses control and kisses the wall. Schumi is relatively undamaged and, aided by Massa playing the role of mobile chicane, hangs in there for the win. :D

Too much of a risk for MS, I think Ferrari will have Massa just T-bone Alonso right off the track. Proper job!

That sounds more like it!

Then Ferrari will complain that Alonso was to blame as he got in Massa's way.
The stewards will side with Ferrari.

I wouldn't be surpised. I find myself actually beginning to expect a "Zidane-style" ending to Schu's career.

I do too; taint a remarkable career and end it rather badly with controversy.
It will happen

No it won't, or at least it won't be Schumacher doing the 'deed'. ;)

On the 2 previous occasions where Schumacher was involved in incidents during the last race of the season and fighting for the championship, he was ahead in the points, and had everything to gain, he doesn't have that luxury this time around. Unless he pulls a Macau 1990 that is. :D

Of course not :D

The Alonso crashout will be caused by his own partner -> Fisi <- obsessed with taking 3rd place in the WDC from Massa. :p
