The message theme I'm using is called Mockie, I continued the desktop picture in the message window by taking a screen shot of the area where I usually have my message window open, then in adium preferences under the messages category check the box that says "use custom backround," and drag the screen shot you just took into the empty space below.

Now, when you open your message window the backround should continue the desktop picture. You may need to move the window around a tiny bit in order to have it perfectly line up with the desktop pic. :cool:
 
Desktop on my new(ish- well ok, it's old, but it has come into my possession only recently, so there. :D) laptop.

i don't know why but i enjoy looking at people's desktops... its like taking a quick glance at their lives...
