Ipad1 light bleed

My original iPad has light bleed, I never would have noticed!!!!!
You don't even need to google black anything. Just start a movie, check the edges. When the movie is viewed in widescreen I can notice a bright spot, double tap for full screen... It's gone!!!! Without reading this I never would have noticed. Doesn't change the fact that my iPad looks great whatever I'm using it for. Still one of my favorite possessions!!!!!!

Agreed, but no one is saying a LCD screen should be jet black.

It's about how bad is it.

It's like saying everyone breaks wind, yeah, they do. Even the ladies !!!

However, if you let MASSIVE one's off every 2 minutes all day long then it would be something that's not acceptable.
:D

LOL, Funny.

Yeah, why get mad at this device. Mine is just slight... I can look around my home and office and find monitors with similar issues.. Since it is not too bad and I already had an exchanged from the damaged bezel, i will hold on for now.

Yeah mine has some, but i'm going to whine about it. Buy the warranty and take it back after they get their stock built up. If life sucks that bad then return it and go buy the 150 dollar POS android tablet from Best Buy. Nothing in life is perfect, if it does then I wouldn't touch it.... it might give you the herpes!

I Face Time'd it.

I hope that the iPad 3 is CRT based. :D

The iTube, with Degauss button and convergence controls!

I gotta just say it, every iPad2 purchased from now until it is confirmed fixed, will have backlight bleed. Last Tuesday (3/15) I bought two White Verizon 64GB from an Apple Store and they both have it (not too severe). My friend bought a Black 64GB WiFi on launch day (3/11) from another Apple Store and he has it (worse than mine). I love this forum but everyone (including myself) is driving me nuts over this issue. I feel bad for people with dead pixels, scratches, dents, and glue seeping out of the edges, cus none of that is cool and they should return those units, but I think we should all give up thinking we can return our backlight bleed... because you will just get another backlight bleed. I really wish Apple would do something but I have a feeling they won't anytime soon, and I wish people who claim they don't have the backlight bleed would just shuttup because you do have it, search google images for "black" find an all black image, save it, turn your brightness to 100%, and get in a completely dark room and view the black image, you will see it, and if you don't, then take a pic and post it so we can see that there is hope.

What is this backlight bleed? I just got my 64gb ATT unit today and even though I don't know when I'll ever be looking at an all black screen, with the brightness maxed, in a completely dark room (gotta laugh at this) I went ahead and followed your instructions anyhow and didn't see anything amiss. Can you post a pic of what we are supposed to be looking for?
