I've got a Quest 2 and it's actually a pretty wonderful way to get in some low-impact cardio while having tons of fun whipping around your lightsaber or whatever. And I don't find it particularly uncomfortable unless I'm wearing it for more than an hour, even with moderate activity.

During lockdown it was my go-to way of closing rings when I wasn't getting out much. You don't want to wear it for high impact cardio, but that isn't the point here.

Allowing Quest to share workouts to your iPhone might be really convenient for many users. Personally I don't think it's a function I would use as I just start a "Fitness Gaming" working on my watch and log the activity that way (and I get heart rate info).

Here is the problem with that. Oculus was originally an independent VR company. If they still were and did this, our information would belong to Facebook if they were to buy them later.
That applies to everything. If that’s what you’re worried about it’s impossible to buy anything that isn’t from a company that Facebook can’t afford to buy.
