Facebook has updated their iOS app to version 4.1 today. The new version incorporates their new Timeline view which is "your collection of the photos, stories, and experiences that tell your story."
- Access to Mobile Timeline on iPhone (if you already have a timeline). iPad support coming soon.
- Access to friend lists, subscribers and subscriptions
- Faster, better performance
- Photos are easier to view, upload and comment on
TechCrunch notes some other improvements, including improved notifications and other bug fixes. The new version is a free update on the App Store [iTunes].

I wish with timeline you could delete anything that was older than say, 6-8 months, with the option of keeping photos. I'd really like to start fresh. I viewed my timeline, and there's posts from 4-5 years ago of me wasted during my university time. There's just too much stuff to delete individually.

I'm no longer a 17 year old fresher, so I'd not like people to be able to snoop and see what 17 year old me looked like and did.
.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile/9A405)

I'll believe it when I see the notification and bug fixes. Every update has said the exact same thing and it failed miserably.

Timeline is the sh*t!!!

And you couldn't foresee this at the time you posted? Live and learn.

Can't you just delete/untag yourself from the photos?

I doubt you can do it from the app, but one of the privacy settings on Facebook.com is to limit who can see past posts. This may help you?

It's not just photos, it's posts, links etc.

I've enabled that, but it doesn't let me choose a cut off date and when I test out my timeline profile as someone else, I can still view my full timeline.

I'm quite sure you can remove and untag those too. It might take time but if it bothers you that much, it can be done.

4-5 years worth of posts, links etc? Yeah sure.. I'll spend the next 2 months of my life doing that.

The Facebook app is without question the single buggiest, crashiest app on my whole iPhone. I really hope they've been working to address these issues.

The last version I updated to specifically said it contained a fix to the bug where you'd see comments for one photo while looking at another. Within 30 seconds of trying the updated version I could see that the problem had still not been fixed.

Here goes...
