Thanks for the pics, however, I don't get the same result. Is this on an iPad or iPhone, just wondering. I downloaded the app to my MBP and it says 6.6 before I transfer it to my iPhone, so I am a bit confused.

Those pics are on my iPhone 5s. I am currently unable to reproduce my results on my iPad 3 and I don't know if that is an intentional omission or not. Version 6.6 is indeed the newest version. Not sure what is causing the discrepancy. Facebook has been known to roll out new features slowly, so it may be a backend issue.

Good point with the rollout. I am on an iPhone 5, so I should be good. Thanks for the help, I will patiently wait for that feature.

Facebook,

How about "This iOS app is NOT SO DANG SLOW ANYMORE" as an update.

Seriously why does a company worth $100 BILLION dollars continue to push out apps that behave like it's on a 28K modem?

FINALLY,

you can now view a photo "full screen" without cropping or text/button overlays. Previously if you tapped on the photo to make the text / Done button go away, the photo would expand to remove any letterboxing, cropping off the other two sides. It was impossible to view the whole photo full screen unless the aspect ratio matched the phone's screen exactly. This is now fixed.

That is the kind of bug that makes you wonder if they ever even test the apps in real life.

I find myself using Facebook less everyday because it's so slow I get bored of waiting minuted just to see what a friend wrote on my wall. They should do something to fix the sluggish app!

OMG, an app where you can EDIT your posts!?

This is technological advancement that will have decades of impact.

I concur - POST really changed the face of the internet, nevermind the fact that it was part of HTTP 1.0 and so was basically the first face that the internet actually had for most people.

I'm beyond estatic that you can finally edit posts! *In the voice of the female Walmart employee in Fun with Dick & Jane* Thank you Jesus!

I also like that you can add pictures to comments.

My number one gripe about this app is the fact that I have to routinely set my newsfeed to most recent. I have offered money - I think I got up to $10 - if someone can just simply tell me how to set my newsfeed preference once and never have to mess with it again.

If you go to the [DIRECT LINK] in the article, it clearly says that the edit feature is only for the iPhone...

What's new

• Edit your posts and comments, and tap to see all your changes (iPhone only)
• Add a photo when you comment
• Express yourself with icons when you post to someone's timeline (English only)
• Get to privacy shortcuts by tapping the lock by your name in the main menu
• Bug fixes

Why MR chose not to include that in their quote is beyond me...

However, it also says this in the information on the App Update when you update in iOS. Do people not read and just blindly hit update? I like to know what's changing before I decide I want to click Update or not.

Here are screenshots from both my iPhone and my iPad. If they've updated the description and it hasn't been pushed to my devices, I can't help that, but upon release they gave no indication that the edit functionality was iPhone only. It's amazing how catty people can get when they jump to conclusions without knowing the whole story. Gotta love the internet!

Good for you iOS guys. It's been nice being able to do this from the Android app for awhile. Before, I always hated noticing a mistake then having to rush into the web browser for the desktop site to accomplish the edit/delete.

Mine keeps switching between the top layout (news feed by swiping to the side) and the bottom (all buttons across the bottom). Any idea why?

Anybody else experiencing a weird thing with the Facebook app?

With my phone, this update and the prior one, I updated the app and it looks like what the app store shows it (Status update and whatnot up top, and then a bar at the bottom with the news feed and "more" buttons), but once I press the home button and go to the home screen and then tap the Facebook app to go back into it, it's back to the old style with the ugly 3 lines on the top left with no bar on the bottom.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Anyone else experiencing this?

I'll mention, I've done a hard restart, deleted the app, and reinstalled with no help. I'm on a black 32GB Verizon iPhone 5, and my wife's on a white 16GB Verizon iPhone 5 and hers functions like the update shows...both running 7.0.2

Calendar?

I hope they have fixed the battery draining bug.

Using the System Monitor app I find that a warm phone is usually connected with a stuck calendar process (that conveniently crashes out when you use the System Monitor and writes a CrashReport) and is found after running the Facebook app sometimes. Since knowing this I have greatly reduced my battery drain I previously associated with Facebook.

I'm having the same issues. My app keeps reverting back to version 5. I've deleted everything on my mac as well as phone - done hard resets - everything in every combo I can think of and it still reverts. I have no idea what's wrong.

update didn't work

I can't get the update to work...using 5s with iOS 7.... in the 'about' app, it shows version 5 but in the app update it says 'open' (assume that its downloaded) for version 6....good grief. Rebooted, re-installed...doesn't work

I mentioned this issue above, but since then mine seems to have fixed itself. Permanently on the newest layout for a day or so now.
