'Facebook for iPhone' now 'Facebook Mobile'?

The facebook iphone app is terrible. I guess facebook doesn't actually want anyone to use it; the mobile site has much greater functionality.

The reason it's saying from Facebook Mobile rather than Facebook for iPhone is simply because the app now mostly uses the mobile site within the app. just look at touch.facebook.com on safari, it's the spitting image of the iPhone app's news feed, with the like/comment button and all.

Yep, you can still do it from this program on this website.

Basically you can choose other funny 'update via' signatures including the microwave oven, PS3, camera, calculator even your mom.

You can also create your own devices

Why is it such a massive deal?

It's a big deal for people who broadcasts messages using an iOS device not necessarily an iPhone.

It does this for Apple and Android, but for Windows it's still "via HP Web OS" or something similar. Weird.

Actually it only says that when you post from a HP WebOS phone. When you post from Windows Phone 7 it says "via Windows Phone".
