Did you really think I wouldn't notice that "secure data storage" is last on the list?! Hah! Nice try, Zuckerberg.During today's event, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also said that privacy will be more of a focus going forward. Facebook will focus on six principles as it makes site and app changes in the future: private interactions, encryption, reduced permanence for content, safety, interoperability, and secure data storage.
I really, really hate this. I feel like almost all news sites have shifted to this, and viewing them on an actual computer leaves tons of wasted space.
Maybe our brains are wired differently. For me I have this experience with Instagram more than Facebook.
It's just funny how it has come full circle. It used to be a thing to tout that a mobile device displayed a full desktop site instead of a pared down mobile version. Now they're stripping away full desktop sites to make it work on mobile devices. They don't really have a choice. Mobile is quickly becoming the way the internet is viewed so they need to cater to the majority. It's just the reality of the shift in device usage.
Maybe we’ll finally get a native resolution app for the iPad.
Facebook is the only major developer I’m aware of (certainly of the apps I use) that still hasn’t provided an app that uses the screen real estate of an iPad, especially the 12.9”. It’s basically the iPhone version... ridiculous amounts of wasted space.
