Facebook iPad App Updated for Retina Display

Updated, but clearly the graphic resources don’t look “retina quality”. Graphic assets in other updated apps look so good they’re almost like vector graphics, all my
menu icons look incredibly aliased.


Maybe a delete and re-install per the poster above[?]​
 
Facebook put little effort into the Facebook app since as of now it doesn't utilize ads like the normal website. That's where they make their money along with games which are also not supported. Why bother putting a lot of effort into something that brings you no income.
 
I had to delete the app, reboot my iPad and reinstall the app to get the retina graphics to display. Looks MUCH better now.

Oh yeah, now that’s the tasty retina goodness I was expecting :D Good call.
 
Guess it looks like crap on the iPad and iPad 2, right? I updated a few apps that included "retina support for the new iPad" and those came back with graphics having jagged edges and overall nasty looking. Are people with non-retina iPads simply supposed to not update their apps?

I think the update caused some issues with graphic resources, because on my 3rd gen the graphics actually looked worse than the previous version until I D/R/R’ed the app.

Give that a shot and see if it’s not an improvement :)

Well, I am not talking about the Facebook app in particular (as I have not updated that yet), but all apps I have updated so far that were updated for the retina display. I have an original iPad.

I've always found the lack of alerts/notifications for Likes to be annoying. Or am I missing something?
 
ugh we will probably wait another 4 months for an update and it wont include timeline either.. what is taking them so long.. they said soon :mad:

I'm hoping for a complete re-write of the app, which includes timeline and other new features.
 
I am 35 days without going on FB! I think I have broken the addiction! I deactivated my account and removed the bookmark to avoid temptation and here I am 35 days later a free man with hours more time each day :p

Remember once upon a time when Zuckerberg said they wouldn't create an iPad app because the iPad wasn't portable enough? yeah....
