I dont understand why Facebook didn't bring an app out as soon as the iPad was released. I read somewhere that they didn't do it because the iPad wasn't a truly portable communications device thingy!! I take my iPad everywhere with me, Im (sadly) constantly on facebook, its how I contact alot of my friends and family.

I was one of the lucky ones that got the bargain HP Touchpad, and even THAT has a facebook app, I've begun using my touchpad more than my ipad solely for the Facebook app.

Hurry it up Facebook!!! Get with the times!!

Linked in is on it.

It isn't, if you type in LinkedIn on iTunes UK the only version available is the iPhone version which has to be 2x'd to operate full screen on the iPad and looks horrible, the only alternative is a 3rd party app LinkPad which is exceptionally basic in its functionality

Official Facebook apps for both iPhone and iPad are always buggy.

3rd party apps like Friendly are much better

Jailbreak. Install Facebook app. Install FaceBreak from Cydia.
Enables the hidden iPad app that Facebook have embedded in the iPhone app, but not "turned on" yet.

err, facebreak appears to be something related to enabling 3g facetime?

My experience was exactly the opposite. Things have improved, but for a while the 3rd party apps were useless.

How do you tag people in the posts. I can't figure it out.

was going off the description, since using it though, don't think it's tagging people the way we thought sadly! just tagging them as if you're with them doing something, like the location tagging.

Yeah, I'm finding the same. Can't tag them in a post. :-(

That should be FaceForward, not facebreak.

However, if you've got the current updated version of Facebook on your iPad, FaceForward no longer works. You need the previous version to enable this.

Actually, the most recent update to the official Facebook iPhone app is the smoothest running version yet. And for a while, any third party app I tried was sucking. MyPad is working the best so far, and even that crashes randomly every so often. I just want this official app and I want it running as smoothly as the iPhone one is now.

I honestly have no idea why Facebook is holding back this app while rushing FB apps for the Touchpad and Android tablets to market. It must be something to do with their dislike of Apple. Otherwise they are idiots.

Probably Zuckerberg trying to say something along the lines of "I'm better than you Apple". Maybe that's why the iPhone version sucked for so long.

I think it's coming with iOS 5, along with deep integration into the OS like twitter. I think it's been held back to be a showstopper when they unveil the new iPhone.
