Facebook doesn't like Google. They see them as a competitor. This is why there wasn't an API or official facebook client for Android for an entire year after Android came out.
The difference between facebook and google is that when the social network trend dies back down (and all trends lose popularity), Google will still be around with search, mail, chat, phone, android, etc, etc, etc
Facebook is better at copying existing services (myspace, twitter, foursquare, etc) than innovating. The company will eventually sell itself out to commercial interests and people will stop using it as much.
I already get as many updates from my 'likes' as my 'friends' on there. Its a bit annoying.
