Is FaceID working well all the time for you?

im noticing FaceID is working well sometimes but other times not as much. I’m curious how it’s going for everyone else now that we’ve had plenty of chances to use it. I did a search in the forums but nothing came up with a topic like this.

Way better than expected. I absolutely see it as an improvement over touch ID (much more seamless and natural). No more trying to position your finger/thumb over the little circle. There is much more leeway now in the positioning of your face and also swiping up. By the time I pull my phone out of my pocket and look at it and swipe up -- bang - it's open.

Not to mention Apple Pay and also using apps and websites that require passcodes. Way more seamless and less intrusive than having to line up your digits on the home button. It's awesome -- no doubt about it. 100% love it.

I was a bit skeptical due to Apple's live presentation failure, but it works great. Works great with sunglasses too!

Works well for me, the failure rate is probably similar to with Touch ID.

I like how the notifications now are hidden until you look at the phone. Also like that I can tap anywhere on the screen to wake it.

Downside is that it's harder to check notifications/unlock if phone is sitting on a table

You can turn off the show previews only "when unlocked" for EVERY app, or do it on an app by app basis. So if you aren't worried about someone else seeing notifications from say -- the NY Times -- you can set it so it doesn't have to face id/unlock to see the entire notice.

I'm only concerned about Messages. that's the only one that needs to be private for me, unless its me looking at my notice screen. Easy to change all of this in settings/notifications.

I will let you know once I receive my replacement iPhone X. My current one has defective Face ID sensors. :)
