What if I’m in the shower or something. Dang!

do you keep your phone facing your naked body in the shower? My phone is always in the other room. I'm not sure a use case for keeping your iPhone with you in the tub or shower.
[doublepost=1548735331][/doublepost]FaceTime - Issue

Today, 10:16 PM - ongoing
Group FaceTime is temporarily unavailable.

The bug is specifically with the group functionality of adding another participant before the Facetime user has picked up so if Apple has killed Facetime for Groups until a bug fix is issued, it does mean everyone is safe since adding a 3rd person won't work.

I... really don’t care. It’s a bug, it’ll get fixed. And in the meantime, it’s not like it can be done without your knowledge - you’re gonna see the incoming FT call. Combine that with the fact that the only people who are ever going to FT me are friends and family... plus it requires deliberately initiating the bug... so I guess if my mom or best friend wants to spy on me... and looks up how to do this... and don’t care that I know they’re doing it...

Massive failure after massive failure? Sure there isn't another company you are referring to or hyperbole for hyperboles sake?

This is a massive oversight and privacy bug affecting millions of devices. It’s a PR nightmare and a massive failure. As was the battery debacle, the stagnating sales, the iPad mini being dropped for 4 years, list just goes on for me. Not happy with the overall lack of innovation since Cook took over, one new device and that’s it. And it’s a watch.

None of what you mentioned, at least imo, is a massive failure. You're entitled to your opinion, as I am. As far as stagnating sales, Apple is expected to announce around $84B in revenue. That number to me, while not meeting guidance is not indicative of any massive failures. YMMV of course and I understand your list of issues with Apple is different than mine.

NB: Samsung had a massive failure with the Note 7.

the response from apple and tim cook will define tim cook's legacy. there is no scott forstall around this time to blame.

week(s) is not acceptable ... every minute is ticking clock.

Massive failure after massive failure. Dissappointing, but Cook is in over his head. Not a visionary.
There were pretty bad bugs even under Steve Jobs.

Why show a video of how to replicate this issue? Why is that necessary? We’re already aware of the problem; no need to show people how to replicate it. This is a security and a privacy problem.
Apple has no privacy issues so you are wrong.

There was but we're in a time when Apple will happily put up a billboard in Vegas during CES week touting the privacy of its platform. Then this comes out three weeks later, its not a good look.

I have used FaceTime like one. The realities of living in Asia where iPhones don’t have dominant market share, I suppose.
Yeah!

Is not just Asia, even in Europe the iPhone market is not strong enough for anyone to use Facetime. As well we kind of just use normal calls or some other services. It is impossible to keep track on who owns or not an iPhone.

It's a bug. Not exactly an earth shattering one like the chip design flaws from last year. A software bug. It'll be fixed. Calm down. Return to your previously planned activities.
It is actually earth shattering and a huge deal if you think.one if not the worst bug in the history of tech.

You sir, have missed the bigger picture.

Is this just on iOS 12? Wife’s phone still on 11.

As far as I’m aware, it was introduced in 12.1 so 11 should be safe. Don’t think 11 even had Group FaceTime.

Allow me to rephrase your post.

"I'm on an anti-Apple crusade and so therefore I'll use even the tiniest negative thing about Apple supports my it's-the-end-of-the-world narrative about Apple."

Yeah, that's cleaner and more direct.
