I am having issues with using FaceTime as well. When I go to Settings, it says, "waiting for activation." When I go to make a call while on WiFi to someone with FT, it says, "activating" and isn't lit up to allow me to click it while on the call.

I called two people at Verizon...they are clueless. Told me to try and reconnect with iTunes, blah blah blah. I tried to restore, nothing.

I also have no Verizon in the top left corner.

I mean, I'm not pissed that FT is broke, but I'm pissed that nobody at Verizon seems to be giving a **** to help those in need out.

Call Apple. Or go to an Apple Store (with an appointment).

FaceTime has nothing to do with Verizon.

It's (almost) like calling Verizon if you can't pass a level on Angry Birds.;)

^ That sounds like a bug. Did you consider submitting a bug report to Apple? Virtually no one does this, but if you follow the format you'll almost certainly get a prompt reply from an engineer and the problem will be prioritized accordingly.

It's possible that Clearwire doesn't have enough bandwidth to run facetime.

this does not have an affect, being as many people with JB'd Iphone 4's run facetime over their (3G) data plans.

May I suggest giving your office manager more work to do. 12 hours -wow she must really love the f-time.

It was a major selling point for her and her sisters and being able to see her nieces. Not even going to respond to the other part of this statement

Seems like there's a bug with the bugreporter link.

Anyways, I did some express help thing where Apple calls me tomorrow, but I'm calling them now.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION!

Just spoke with Apple advisor... no help. All the solutions I talked about is exactly what they would have tried and facetime does work only if set up as a real phone. She basically told me that it's a choice between data from app (i.e. Angry Birds) and facetime.

I searched around internet and found this solution to transfer data: http://www.topiphoneresource.info/howto-transfer-iphone-game-scores-to-ipodtouch-ipad/

I just did a restore as a new phone, manually installed angry birds and used the iPhone explorer, per above instructions, to manually move my game data over. And it works! And facetime works too!

Now to do that for all the other data I need to move over... but this is the solution I have so far.
