Okay, so I finally got it to sign in.

Here's what I did: I merely connected my MBP directly to my modem with an ethernet cable. That's it. Signed in right away. I've tested it out back on my wifi network, and it works just fine.

Either my Netgear router, Vonage gateway, or 3G Microcell was interfering with the sign in process.

I finally got signed in too. I had to start or open peerguardian (if you don't know what it is , you probably don't have it) and "disable filters". I was then able to sign in. I went back and "enabled filters". FaceTime is still signed in.

I can't even find the icon to open the program after installing the beta on my Macbook Pro.

Hey Old Guy, Did you get signed in yet? Surely you have an iTunes account. I figure that's why my username was already in the sign in space. BTW, I was already signed in to itunes when I opened facetime.

I'm having the identical problem. Worked fine on one computer at home. Here at my office, I've tried all I can think of, to no avail.

I'm having problems again.

Here's the feedback I just sent to Apple:

When I call my iPhone 4 (or anyone's iP4) from my Mac:
-the iPhone rings
-The iPhone can accept, and the status changes to "connecting..."
-The status on my Mac remains at "FaceTime....". It doesn't change to "Connecting...", and it does not connect (the FaceTime session does not begin).

If I call my Mac from my iPhone 4 (or if someone else calls me), my Mac's FaceTime does not ring. The iPhone rings and rings, and nothing happens at all on the Mac's end.

I am using a NetGear Dualband router. This was the problem when I set up FaceTime: I had to bypass the router and connect directly to my modem via ethernet cable in order to set it up. I was then able to use FaceTime wirelessly through the router, but for some reason (perhaps after a Mac restart?), FaceTime now refuses to work.

I hope my info is helpful in fixing FaceTime......... FTR, Skype works perfectly wirelessly through my router.

In case anyone is still having issues this is what worked for me.
thanks iknowyourider

Thank You for posting this. I forgot. I have been trying and trying to get Safari to work right. It got to where it would not open links or show any pics. Then I saw your post. I went and disabled filters on PG and now Safari works.
