What's the big deal with updating to iOS 7? If your device supports it update!

Because people like to cry about things... The people who didn't update because they don't like it, that's not the design they bought the phone for, and think Apple shouldn't force them to update are the same people who cried that features like Siri, burst photos, etc didn't come to older phones when updates. Lol

Hahaha....oh man....

Loving all the "it just works" sarcastic posts - as if that saying is supposed to imply that Apple tech will NEVER experience ANY outage EVER.

Also loving all the indignant iOS 6 users whining about being told to upgrade to iOS 7 to fix the problem....ya, get with the program and progress like the rest of us. You wanna stay stuck in the past, don't blame anyone but yourself when things aren't as good.

You guys are an interesting bunch.

If you're a software company and know your going to have glitches/issues -Dont use the term "It Just Works"

So rather than them immediately suggesting you upgrade to iOS 7, which you evidently don't want to do, they made you 'jump through hoops for 90 minutes' -- read: spend ages patiently trying to fix your issue on their last-gen mobile OS -- and only suggested upgrading when nothing else worked.

I'm amazed at some commenters' level of self-importance and insistence on whining about every little thing. If it's so bad, jump ship -- and you'll be lucky to get more than a 'tough ****' when things go wrong.

I wonder what gems and nuggets of wisdom you could have brought to the table had you been in that tech guy's position. Grow up.

Wow, someones grumpy!

When did Apple use that phrase?

It's relative - like EVERYTHING.

Apple's services offer seamless integration with things like iMessage, Photo Streams, and other iCloud services. Photos taken on the iPhone automatically appear on your iPad or Macbook. That's how "it just works".

That phrase has nothing to do with everything working all the time. Because there isn't a service or piece of technology in existence that doesn't experience a problem every now and again.

It's funny that people take Apple's marketing phrases SO LITERALLY.

So... why is it I can't view my photostream online again? ;)

Also... why is it iMessage always screws up when you roundtrip from desktop to iPhone to iPad and back? It always for me and all of iOS/OX user friends.

So sure... it's just a "marketing term," but it is true that Apple still cannot get cloud services right. IMHO, it's Apple's #1 weakness and may hurt them severely in the long term.

Likewise, its funny how people pick and choose when Apple quotes apply.

I think there will be a few "thumb" quotes coming back to bite them when Apple announce their next release ;)

Via iCloud.com? That would be a feature-set problem within the website. I think iCloud.com could be a lot more robust.

Doesn't change the fact that if you live within the ecosystem, it all works rather seamlessly. Forgive me if I don't base my judgement of that phrase on how easily Apple makes it to sync with various devices without their logo on it.

Apple is highly ecosystem driven. Within the ecosystem, things are extremely easy and seamless. There are outages at times. It happens to everyone. But the phrase "it just works" applies regardless.

Well, it might be me then... ever since I went over to iOS 7, when I go to iCloud.com, I don't see my photostreams at all. Perhaps it's a setting?

Btw... why would it be a setting? Shouldn't it "just work?" ;)

I do.

Update: I'm searching everywhere online, I can't find anything about iCloud.com having Photostream. If someone can show me, I'd love to know. Thanks.

So when Steve said that he meant no customer would ever have a problem with Apple software or services? Or people just want to be smart you know whats because they think it's clever?

Boy do you not have a sense of humor.

UPDATE:
Btw... maybe you can help, Mr. No sense of humor... how can I access Photostreams on iCloud.com?

Just wondering, the reason people are not going to iOS 7 from 6 is because of the UI?

So it seems.

Thats another thing that makes me chuckle. In numerous threads talking about the larger iPhones - people keep repeating that if you dont like the thought of a larger size, then you can stick with the 5S or lower.

When it comes to ios - Unless your on ios 7 - you get literally ridiculed!

Seems some Apple fanatics only like freedom of choice when it suits them.

No, I just use common sense when approaching marketing fluff. People seem to assume Apple writes this stuff in a vacuum and IMPLIES that their stuff always works all the time and is perfect.

Apple is confident in their products, not blind to the difficulties ALL tech faces.

As far as the thumb/screen size thing goes, its getting ridiculous how many times I have to say this. Releasing a 4.7" and/or 5.5" device in NO WAY invalidates Apple's claim that the 4" iPhone is perfect (best) for one-handed use.

Just as Apple took the whole "plastic" thing head on, I assume we'll see something like "While the 4" iPhone is perfect for those who rely on one-handed use, there are plenty who prefer to give up this ability for a larger more immersive display..." then some marketing blah blah about the iPhone 6.

See how this doesn't contradict anything? And how Apple is simply speaking truth - that a 4" display is the best for one-handed use (and that was what they focused on). Now that its clear - in their own market research - that people are willing to give that up for a larger display, they'll address it.

But hey, don't let me stop you from ripping Apple apart over ridiculous interpretations of relatively true and innocuous marketing fluff.

You've never been able to get to photostreams via iCloud.com. If you have a mac, your photostreams all show up in iPhoto.

I agree they should add this and more to the iCloud.com website. I'm sure they will at some point. Acquiring Yahoo might help some of that :D

It's because there are still millions of people using iPhone 4 and iOS 7 runs like a snail on them. I think it's reasonable to use an OS that's several orders of magnitude more smooth and faster, right?

Ok... that's sorta my point. Apple *used* to have this capability, and for some strange and bizarre reason they took it away once we went to iOS 7. Talk about backwards. Again, this doubly proves my point:

Apple sucks at cloud services. Period.

There's a difference between a progressing OS and a piece of hardware that is still more powerful than any apps on the app store (the 5S).

In my mind, people should stop whining about all of it - embrace change.

So basically its update to iOS 7 or suck it? If this is the case, Apple's software support is downright terrible (even more than I originally thought) and it is an obvious dick move to them still on iOS 6.

But if it is just a simple case of it being broken due to a server error or whatever, then I hope they fix it soon.

Wait what? Since when have you been able to access Photostreams via iCloud.com? And what does iCloud.com have to do with iOS 7? (other than they changed the look to match)

It's generally a good idea to keep your devices updated if you want them to function best. That being said, apple still should be able to support the older versions.
