How is the voice quality when it has to pick up audio from across the room? I’m guessing iPhones mics weren’t really designed for that. It’s using the mic on the iPhone

I’ve had no issue, me and my daughter have been on the couch probably 12-15 feet away and everyone we’ve called has heard us fineHow is the voice quality when it has to pick up audio from across the room? I’m guessing iPhones mics weren’t really designed for that.
I think it's the Belkin one, just folded up.Anyone know what stand are they using for the iPhone in the keynote.

This is great BTW, we should have had this during the lockdowns . . . . .
Thanks for finding that! 👍It's here: https://www.apple.com/ios/ios-17-preview/ Scroll down to footnote 3.
For me the call connects but for some reason I can’t see the other person on my TV. Not sure how to fix it.There’s a FaceTime app on the top row on my TV now, when you open that it sends a pop up to your phone to initiate the continuity camera, you accept, set up the camera where you want and then you can initiate a call on the TV itself, it works seamlessly

Bluetooth Mics sound terribleLame. Thanks for checking. Maybe I'll submit it as a feature request. Seems totally obvious to use the remote mic - all AppleTVs come with a bluetooth remote with a mic that people can hold in their hands or place on the coffee table in front of them.
Aren’t AirPods Bluetooth mics?Bluetooth Mics sound terrible
id say so and they work fine, i cant see why the remote mic wouldn't work well either, Would be much nicer to have placed near you or hold when speaking then using the phones micAren’t AirPods Bluetooth mics?
Have you tried restarting the Apple TV and turning off and back on your phone? That has happened to me and is definitely a beta problem.Guys, i am using ios17b4 and tvos17b4 (apple tv 4k 2nd gen). Facetime is not working. It cannot start video or call or anything. I think that the Continuity camera is not working. Any ideas? Or it's just the beta.
Hey, thanks for replying. Yes, i have tried restarting, reseting and everything i can think of. From beta 1 i hoped it will be fixed in beta 2. From beta 2 hoped to be fixed in beta 3... now i hope to be fixed in beta 5Have you tried restarting the Apple TV and turning off and back on your phone? As it stands, FaceTime on Apple TV is not ready for primetime (which I guess is expected since it is a beta) but I have seen limited advancements since 6/5/23 to today (7/26/23) and launch is <2 months away.
Yeah - completely understood. I could see this being moved back from 17 to 17.1 easily. It is the tentpole feature for tvOS 17, but is not ready for primetime and could (in my opinion) cause more negativity than positivity. I attempted to show it to some friends who were at our place recently and it would not work, starting the ATV from a cold start. If it doesn't work and people try it in Sept/Oct, they won't go back to it given unreliabilityHey, thanks for replying. Yes, i have tried restarting, reseting and everything i can think of. Really odd, I’ve had virtually no issues with it since beta 1, in fact I’ve been impressed with how well it works and I wish I had more occasions to use itYeah - completely understood. This has been my experience as well. Initially I did a weird setup with my iPad on my ottoman so that I would get a good angle and not be super small in the middle of the room immediately realized I didnt need to do all that lol. The camera did an amazing job and the sound was perfect.Really odd, I’ve had virtually no issues with it since beta 1, in fact I’ve been impressed with how well it works and I wish I had more occasions to use it
