Leave all negativity out of this thread please.

I am just amazed at FaceTime. I can not express how much joy this one moment brought me.

I know you weren't the first Apple, but this was my first and  for you!

Hey now, let's leave all positive posts regarding iPhone 4 off MR, please. We're in the middle of a crisis here. No joy, only angst, hair pulling and self flagellation allowed.

never tried skype or msn messenger?

Speaking for myself, I haven't, nor have I had the desire to.

I am thinking of using Face Time with non-tech savvy people out of state that I don't see often.

Unlike other devices where they'd have to buy and connect a separate PC cam, then install software and learn to use it, with their new iPhones which they were going to upgrade anyway, they can just press one button and see me. The only challenge will be getting one onto her WiFi connection.

How about iChat included with every iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro that have included an integrated Webcam since about 2006?

Actually no.

FaceTime will bring video calling to a lot of people that would never consider trying Skype or MSN Messenger. The ease of use for FaceTime makes it ideal for those that might be less technically inclined. I love how it just works.

It's better since it doesn't require a computer.

It’s neat for sure. It’ll bring even more joy when they come out with additional devices that support it including iChat on the Mac, Apple TV, iPod touch, etc.

Notice Jobs said “Apple would ship millions of FaceTime devices by the end of the year.”

I would love to give my grandparents an Apple TV with built-in FaceTime. :D

I agree, FaceTime is pretty great! :)

Sure there has been video chat on other services and platforms already.

What makes FaceTime so great in my opinion is the ease of use and great quality!

Glad to see some positive posts and discussion on this board!

@skafia Excellent way to use the new iPhone :D i hope to do so in a similar fashion very soon in same way you are. Enjoy the feeling, that you can see your kids when you're away :)

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, I guess the ones who posted negative comments overlooked the part where I said "Apple, I know you weren't first..."

Can you use video chat using skype, msn or iChat on a phone?

Thanks @jyj!

So she was amazed by the first call, stared at the screen without talking... I called her the 2nd time and she was glued to the iPad watching Toy Story 2, and he said "I don't want to look at daddy!"

Lol :)

While holding the lock/power button (at the top) press the Home button.

That will take a screenshot in any part of the phone (and it'll show in the Photos application).

Awe, this makes me love Facetime even more. I cannot wait until the iPad and Touch get it. It'll make it more useful with more people to video chat with.
