I agree with you OP. I've used iChat before, but it's really not the same. The fact that it's on your phone, makes it so much easier to use, and you can literally take it anywhere. I am a bit disappointed that it only works over WiFi, but whatever, I can deal with that. It kinda gets annoying when everyone talks about Apple not being the first company to put the front facing camera on a phone, and that's fine. Even if they aren't, they did it right, and obviously the feedback is great. Who cares who did it first, as long as they do it right.

i agree! you dont hear anyone making a big deal about the EVO's front facing camera.

A friend of mine just bought a new house and he got to show me around his new house by us using FaceTime, it's pretty cool that he can walk around the whole house and I got to tell him where his TV should go...

I know you can web cam on Skype and MSN Messager, but carrying the iPhone and switching the cameras around were just joy to use!

... on a side note, i wish the front camera was higher quality. after all, we're using wifi, so we might as well be able to push better quality video through it.

Silly for people to complain about the forward facing camera in the context of facetime. If the image was pixalated and jerky that would be one thing but it's reasonably clear, smooth video that suits it's purpose. Also since the camera is intended to take a picture of a subject that is less than 3 feet away it's resolution is more than enough.

BTW.. I have my shirt off and am now accepting Facetime calls only.

If your rubbing your belly with CoCoa Butter........I'M IN!!!!!!!

Any word on when Skype/Fring/Third Parties are going to implement the FaceTime API so we can use it with people that don't have iPhone 4s/iPod Touch 4s?
