I never did an unlock before so I didn't know what to expect. after I got an email from swift, I tried hooking the phone up to iTunes but couldn't really go through all their instructions since I didn't have a different sim. I emailed their support and they said to just put another sim in there. I just borrowed a buddy's sim the next day at work, powered down the phone, swapped sims and powered back up. worked a treat!

It's been a while since having to restore was necessary. All you have to do is pop in the new SIM and the phone will bring itself back to the activation screen and I believe ask for your account info and then you're good.

Thank you. This was explained to me a few posts above. Apparently ios 7 was what changed this. I hadn't had to unlock anything since an iPhone 5, so that makes perfect sense!
