Fake Sector 5 Case Reviews

Ok, here are the pictures.
The first two are original (left, silver screws, matte) vs. fake (right, black screws, rather glossy). The difference in reflectiveness can be noted in almost every viewing angle hence it makes no difference which is closer to the light. The original is always dull/matte and never ever has the shiny highlights.

The other picture is my current setup, a fake Gunmetal-gray black and a spigen.tr with included button. I dont like the button too much, but so far it's ok... I might change that in the future

ordered one from ebay for 45 euro(60 dollar)
the seller has 100% positive feedback and is located in the uk so i will get it faster then when its shipped from china.
i asked him about sharp edges and other fakes ect. he says he had alot and has the best of the clones.
We shall see when it arrives. it does look good!

Got it. Fake is a fake...

Had problems getting iphone inside. Was really a tight fit.
Rough edges on some parts wich doesnt feel good.
Can squeeze the sides of the case a bit.
Sleep button extension wiggles and thus makes noise.
Sleep button was shipped with lots of scratches.
Element text is painted.
Cutout for volume is there, but sticks outwards more then original, thus you have to fo good effort to push the buttons and use the mute switch.
Backside sticker is not the size it should be at all. About 2,5mm too small so you see the back of the iphone at the edges of the sticker. its that bad.

But....there are also pro's:
Cutout at the bottom of the iphone are very well placed, unlike pictures ive seen in this topic.
The E logo at the left is not printed but real.
Not so rough edges as on other pictures in this thread, although still some rough spots.
Makes the iphone look more badass then ive thought.

Sooo... the factories in China have been busy and looks like they're now making Sector 5 cases as well. Has anyone purchased one of these yet and able to give a review? The last thread of the "Fake Vapor Pro Reviews" was great to be able to see the differences between these different vendors.

Personally, I haven't upgraded to the iPhone 5 yet, but hopefully will be doing so fairly soon. I was able to find one vendor on "ABE" that had the Sector 5 Black Ops edition listed, but not sure if it really comes with all the accessories, as it's the same pictures used by Element Case.

Who knows a link to a replica with a proper volume cutout wich makes the volume buttons easily pressable with the right hand?

Hey buddy..These were the best pics I could get. Anything closer and it wouldn't focus well (or I still don't know how to use my camera to its fullest extent ) Mine feels smooth and high quality. Still no scratches or chips, but maybe I got lucky?

Yes from Caseswill. It came within a week because I used DHL shipping.

You should be fine. There's technically always a chance since it has to go through customs. It may hang for a couple days in customs with no update.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I ordered from Caseswill on January 30 and received mine yesterday (Feb 21)

I suspect my progress was slowed by Chinese New Year, but don't be surprised if your tracking updates just stop happening for awhile. Mine went totally dark for at least 2 weeks after it left Hong Kong, and then it just showed up one day.

Overall pretty happy with it, finish quality isn't perfect (as expected - some rough edges on the plastic "hinge" pieces, etc), fit is just a bit too tight, the back cover (black ops model) is slightly too small, etc. But really, not enough to prevent me from ordering a couple more to mess around with. Love this thing!

Does anyone know of a really thin AUX cable (like the size of the apple earpods) that fits with these cases? That's one problem I've found. I can't use it in my car until I find a aux cable with a thin plug

I'd post pics but at the moment the only camera on hand is screwed inside that case, making it exceedingly difficult to take photos of it. But I will say that I had the case out with me this weekend and every guy who saw it wanted one. If I have a chance when I get home, I'll snap some pics with my real camera.

I don't know what you used for shipping but I chose Hong Kong post - I received a shipping confirmation from them with a link to the HK Post website, but my shipment would only track by following the dropdown list below that to the US Postal Service tracking site. They don't pick up the tracking until it's accepted by Hong Kong Post and HK Post apparently notifies USPS that the shipment is inbound. USPS tracks the package with the number that you receive from Caseswill (in my case it has always started with RC and ended with HK).

So, like I said, my order was placed on January 30. I got the shipping confirmation email on February 2, and nothing started to show up on the tracking until February 6.

I don't think I have anything to lose by posting this, so here's a screenshot of exactly what I saw from then on:

I'll also note that I went ahead and ordered 3 more cases on Friday the 22nd, received the shipping confirmation email and tracking number on the 23rd, and that number is still not producing tracking results. I'll update this thread as it proceeds, if it's helpful to others to see how consistent or inconsistent their shipping process is.

Looks like Alibaba has more color choices (that bronze one is tempting, dammit) The packaging and included accessories appear to be virtually identical to what I got from Caseswill, and I don't think anyone on here has ordered from both places to compare, so you might just have to take one for the team and let us know.

I am at "origin post is preparing shipment" but it has already been processed through sort facility in China. I ordered it on feb 19 and got the confirmation email Feb 22.

You also said that you ordered it with the Chinese New Year in between so that definitely affected your shipment time. For mine, I'm guessing that it will be here around next week.

Do people notice that its fake? Like are there any dead giveaways? Do you have it in black with a black iphone? (thats what I'm going to do) Thanks!

sry for the PM-thingy, wasn't aware of it:/ hope it's changed now...

the ebay seller is here: ebay link. The one I ordered is quite good, the corners tend to be a tad rough but all in all acceptable imho.

After having on the gunmetal for some time I got back to the original and have to say that the haptics is quite different and better/smoother.

as for the previous question if a fake is noticable: It depends.
Somehow who knows the original? yeah, pretty much. It's too shiny and feels different.
Someone who has not seen an original in RL? no. Since these are pretty much most people I wouldn't worry;-)
No giveaways - except when you have a combo that is not original (bronze, pink, or black with black screws, ...). The first batch produced had the logos a bit wrong but they had it right on mine...

black on black looks good, but it's rather unimpressive as it's all black and you loose "this is different" effect. It tends to be just a rather big black thing. (yeah, I was all "black is cool" but once I had it in my hands I kept wondering why I felt there is something missing and came up with the above...)
