So I bought the "gold" cleave from Jacky Lin...was alright and more orange than gold;none of my freaking headphones work on it. neither my beats, souls or anything that has a right angle plug would work.

so my question:

which of these aluminum knock off cases can take a myriad of headphone choices? scratch the cleave because the metal bumper itself is twice as thick almost as the original apple bumper

suggestions?

The vapor pro would work perfect. I have yet to have a aux cord not fit.

aux as in extension or the actual cable directly from non-apple headphones? the beats have this angled flat cable...

Oh and is Jacky Lin still the best provider for knock off Vapor pros?

He only has 2 colors, silver and black...which are kind of meh hahah

Anyone try other vendors/dealers?

I asked for and received black & orange with a black button and carbon fiber backplate.

The fit was initially a little snug but now that it's 'settled', it's like a glove. Dare I say stiffer than my original, real Vapor Pro.

The only thing that I could call a negative is that the orange is deeper and redder than my original. I kinda like it better, actually.

Any type of cord. Headphone jack, I have klipsch headphones, and Bose. My two aux cord in the car hav worked great too. These cords work on the vapor pro. I'm about 98% sure your cord would work as well.

These look insanely well done. Any one who has a fake vapor pro or chroma care to look at these pictures in terms of quality? Also, I've never heard of this seller before.

Wow, those ARE pretty. Almost makes me wish I had a white phone.

The only possible negative I see is that the paint looks thin on the edges, like you can see the silver metal beneath. It looks like they sprayed one heavy coat of paint on, instead of multiple thin ones.

Just another data point, my vapor pro arrived and for $20 each I’m pretty happy with it. Free shipping took about 3 weeks, ordered from this store:
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/708161
Comes with the usual pack-ins, but no backplate, not that I care. There Are some imperfections but you really have to look hard for them, and the two frames fit really well. The only problem I see is the pair of screws securing the aluminium piece and the plastic piece seems really short, I wonder if the tip of the screw will wore out after assembly and disassembly, but it’s probably an unlikely event given the life span of cases, by that time I probably will have a new phone.

No signal loss, GPS works, but the compass is a bit unpredictable sometimes.

the cleave's by default, are almost twice as thick as the apple bumper so the 3rd party headphones with right angle plugs generally fail so its not a case of "better buds" [tho the souls are nice...check innerfidelity for a review ;)]

my ultimate ears are broken and it has teh normal straight plug-works fine for the case BUT as i mentioned, they are broken [y-cord frayed/shorted]

it does look nice tho

It's easy to see a spray color on the case

I had purchased a vapor pro from a member on this thread and I installed it yesterday. The pads on the inside weren't perfect and I had to adjust them but when I took the case off, on the top right where the 2 ends meet, looks like one of the edges rubbed on the side of the phone, not the glass, not the bezel, but the part between the bezel and glass. It left a small/decent size marking on the side of my phone. Have you guys seen any "damage" on yours from using this case? Also noticed that, as you guys know the case has lips on the front and back which are meant to go on either side of the metal bezel to hold the case on. My 2 edges/lips are gapped from the bezel...how are your cases? Are they just wide enough to grip the bezel or wider? Because of this, I can move the phone forward and backward within the case. It's not easily moved or anything but if I push on it, it will move.

Got my purchase from Ada Li. They look great. I've had a Vapor Pro from Simon and Yoyobase... Ada's stuff is superior in almost every way. Everything is pretty flush. I mean, this is as flush as it's probably going to get considering that they don't have the same processes as Element like CNC machining.

The paint also isn't as good, but I don't care for the money paid. Everything looks great on these cases. The red and blue are rich in color. It's not a pinkish red. It's RED.

I got silver/clear/red and blue/clear/silver. I chose this combo for a reason. I now have 4 cases in 2. I can do silver/clear/silver and blue/clear/red in addition to the other two.

If you guys are getting half colors, you might want to do the same thing I did. You have to request it. I requested it in chat and comment sections. I wanted the blue on the right side, but would have ended up with two left side silver pieces. I'm very happy I chose the combinations that I did. And the blue still looks excellent on the left side.

The only problems I ran into were the screwdrivers and a small nick in the red case. Both screwdrivers are a little stripped. I am able to use them, but I can't crank down on the screws. So I'll see if the screws come loose because of this. I told Ada about the small dent and screwdriver problems. I will let you guys know how that pans out.

By the way, even the rubber pieces inside the case are superior quality. They aren't the cheap thin flimsy ones like in the other cases. The fit around the phone is excellent.

Sorry, no high-quality pics this time. I'm too busy snowboarding these days lol.

if the pad rubber/felt are in the right places the metal parts should not come in contact with iPhone’s metal band, at least on mine it doesn't. It does touch the plastic bezel around the glass at some places, but not with pressure, at least not in usual usage. Are you certain yours have the pads at all four corners and at the middle of the side with the volume/mute opening? I can move the phone slightly, but I can feel it hold in place snugly by these pads.

Dont want to hijack this thread with Vapor 4's however I received my Vapor 4 order from Ada Li arrived today.

The cases cost something like $5.90 each....so my order total was less than $12 for 2 of these cases. I got 2 in silver, although looking back i should have got one in a different colour.

I have a 4S and there is no effect on signal or wifi using this case....so far. Will have to test outside for the next few days to see if this holds true.

Case quality is....well, excellent to be honest, fitment is flush and no issues at all with it. For the price i am very impressed.

It does look great in silver though doesnt it!

I got my 3 vapor 4 cases from Ada li today, I got a pink/pink one for my girlfriend and 2 silver/silver ones. The pink one fit and quality was superb! Color was great doesn't look painted, looks anodized and the logos are etched not painted! I honestly can't imagine the real thing looking or fitting any better, NOW on to the silver ones, the fit on one silver one is (good) where the corners match up it's off just the slightest bit but it's not noticeable unless you really "look it over". I decided to go with the silver after I saw this post with the shiny finish. Neither of my silver ones are shiny, it's just bare aluminum or matte silver, can't really tell ... Kinda sucks but oh well. As for the second silver case the fitment is way off. So much so I feel like I'd cut myself if I ran my finger over the corner not paying attention! So overall I got 1 perfect case 1 great case, and 1 throw away case. For 19$ can't beat it either way! Ordered a black/black case from Ada as well a few days ago hoping to get a good one lol

I didn't say it touched or scratched the metal band. I said it touches an scratched the plastic bezel that is between glass and metal band. All pads are there. It's held snugly but like I said at that corner it touched. I have added 2 small pieces of the felt backing to the frame part by the on off switch and the frame part that goes to the right side of the phone. Hopefully that was enough to space the case off of the phone so it's not touching. I also put small pieces of tape on the phone where those edges meet in case it did touch when tightened down.

I think they all do it's a slight movement like you said but doesn't move unless you put a little umph into it lol , I just got mine today and I noticed it to but I just pushed the phone down so it gave me a little more front screen clearance, I'd rather crack the back and pay 29.99 to apple rather than 50$ through apple care lol. I have a vapor 4 on a 4s I noticed you have a vapor pro, I bet the real vapors have slightly thicker shock pads which would eliminate any movement

Sorry for blowing up the thread today, does anyone know where to find a knock off "original" vapor 4 . The one without the sim cutout and big vapor 4 logo

I took the case off today and looks like 2-3 corners of the plastic bezel part have metal colored scuffs. I'll be going back to using my SGP case..

Ordered mines on 12/2 and it finally looks like it'll be delivered tomorrow :D. Do you have to sign for the package or do they just leave it in the mailbox?

Go on aliexpress.com They are selling for less than vapor Pro copies, and are being sold by quite a few sellers.
