meh...

okay... Simon didn't refund my order... yes... don't buy from him.
took 1 month to ship with noooo tracking wut so ever...

Anyways back to my point. Here are the pictures to compare the real and fake... they're kinda obv with the paint and un smooth edges... especially the screws and the RF polymer transparency... n the logo... etc. I would say for $20... if it wasn't from simon... should be a very good trade off.

how is the fitment on the replica one compared to the original one?

What are some good color combinations that would go along nicely with a white iphone? I personally dont like the silver or the white color vapor. Im thinking about going with the fully blacked out vapor pro. Any thoughts/opinions? If anyone has pictures of a white iphone with a fully black (the rf insert is black) case i would love to see it!

honest truth... i don't think its actually fair i compared them... but its for self interest.

u can't really compare the legit and non-legit... theres definitely a reason for the price... its just the trade offs and personal preference.
The fitment is pretty damn bad imo... the phone kind of wiggles in the case. But please remember this i from SIMON. You lose a little bit of paint, lose some fitment, and lose some overall quality... but save $140? i think its not bad for a $20 case... I think other sellers would have btr quality than Simon.
Therefore I think the cases were getting from Aliexpress should be pretty decent in consideration to the price trade off.

the white ones are known to be bad quality compared to the other colours. The white paint isnt anodized.

i think if you compared say a legit silver to a fake silver the similarities would be much more apparent.

Yah avoide the white as been repeatedly said. The black and the silver are perfect. And Ive seen good quality from 3 different sellers now.

does anyone know could you fit this case in a holster, im one of the few people that dont like to carry my phone in my pocket

you can probably fit it into holsters for android phones. since majority of the android phones consist of 4.5" screen. Thickness should be pretty standard.

Anyone have pictures of the black comp case? Is it a matte paint or is it slightly reflective?

All I can say about this bumper is... I feel sorry for those that pay regular price for this. This bumper is very uncomfortable in your hand. I got mine yesterday and already back in the box. :(

Which Color did u get? How much ull sell it for?

is it safe to use the Ultrasuede backing?

Just received my Black Ops case that I ordered from jacky lin and it's awesome! looks very authentic and fits great...
But I have one concern, I don't know if it safe to use the backing that came with it.
Anyone tried it and can tall me it's safe to put on and will not leave and marks if I'll take it off?

Vapor Comp

Hi I've been lurking on this forum and thread for a while and I've decided to share my experience because I wouldn't have discovered these awesome counterfeit cases if it wasn't for this thread. So here is a review as a thank you. This post will not be about the Vapor Pro but a fake Vapor Comp (arrived this morning), I see that there are people in this thread who seems interested in the knock off Comp case. I have ordered the black (knock off) Vapor Comp from Jacky Lin for 36USD. He seems to have discontinued the product though.[UPDATE: Jacky Lin put them back up at a lower price, 24.74USD, here.]
But I have seen some other sellers offering the same case. This is the one I bought : http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/104125823.html.

Unlike the Vapor Pro or the Vapor Comp Stealth, the case doesn't come in a premium black box. It comes in a more simple (cheap) packaging that IMHO doesn't befit a 99.99USD case.
Anyhow I've seen the packaging once at a store and the fake one does look and feel the same.

Inside you will find the case itself, a black 'Ultra Suede' backplate, a speedwrench with 2 replacement screws, screenprotector, microfiber wipe and squeegee.
The detail of the accessoires impresses me. The wipe has an Element Case logo just like the original, the squeegee looks real and the speedwrench has the 'E' logo gravure.
If I had bought this at a retail store, I might have been fooled into thinking this is the real deal.

The case itself looks and feels quite good. It's solid and light. The finish of the surface is marvelous. It's not really glossy nor is it matte. It's more like a satin finish. I really like it.
On the inside there is a lining of rubbery material that protrudes the holes on the side and give the case more grip. I wish they have glued it to the case because the lining is just loose. They used the foampads in the corners as tape to keep the lining from falling off.
The 2 corners are lined with foampadding. The pads do compress when you put the phone in. I fear that when they are compressed for a long time that they will lose their shock absorbing ability.
On the plus side, the thickness of the foampadding makes the case a really tight fit.

Satin finish:

Loose liner;

Compressed foampad:

On to the plastic part. After looking at the pictures on aliexpress, I've expected the color of the plastic to be worse. But it turned out okay.
The finish however is not so great. There are some blemishes in the plastic and it is not 100% flush with the aluminium part.

Blemish:

Not so smooth:

On the phone the case itself feels great and doesn't affect signal at all, cellular (-91 to -85 indoor with and without case), gps and wifi works the same as without case. I haven't tested bluetooth but I presume it won't be affected either.

On the phone:

If the plastic part was more accurately made, this case would have been perfect. There will be people who will say: "what'd you expect? it's a knock off!" I don't expect smooth accuracy with this case, but even knock-offs can be of good quality. Still it's not terrible and definitely worth the money.
I'd give this case 7/10 (it would've been 8/10 if it weren't for the okay-ish plastic finish)

PS: After tightening the screws, the plastic part lines up better with the aluminium part, making the 'unflushness' less noticeable.
PPS: Excuse me if some words or sentences sound unusual. This is my first post on this forum and I'm not a native English speaker.

Off-topic BBrom... Horse head nebula... NICE!

I know, but I think it's somewhat related because it's a fake vapor and it comes from the same sources and I saw that there were some people interested in the Comp. I also might do a Vapor Pro review since I have one coming, but I'm not sure though since there are plenty of those here.

I will leave the Comp review here for now, but if it's such a bother I can always request for it to be deleted or moved. :)

No, off-topic as in my comment about the Horse Head Nebula has nothing to do with the cases.

Nice review and plenty on-topic. If you post this outside this thread, you are going to get a lot of crap from people for it lol.

Oh I see :p
Well I wouldn't have dared to post this elsewhere because of the whole 'people-who-buy-counterfeit-goods-are-jerks-stigma'.

I have to ask though, does the plastic hump on the Pro bother you while typing?
I couldn't choose between the Comp or the Pro. I liked the Pro because it has more metal. On the other hand the Comp is more sleek and covers the volume buttons.

But given the prices of these knockoffs I just bought them both + blade case.
And the 3 cases cost me half of a genuine Element Case.
I'm still waiting for the other two, but since it's the holiday seasons I think they are most probably delayed. :(

Nice review, very nice.

I have gone off the vapor cases for now, I feel they add too much bulk to the phone and make the screen look smaller....not sure why haha.

I do like the vapor comps though, they look better than the pro's imo.

Hi, I have this question though, for those of you got their cases from Jacky Lin, which shipping did you opt for?

HK post, China post or pay a lil extra for DHL?
