I think they suck. They're just American faux punk soccer mom music.

Just off the top of my head, Gaslight Anthem is a contemporary faux punk band that's way better and more interesting than Green Day. They are still a bit too manufactured for my taste, but at least there's some degree of authenticity in their repertoire.

Sonic Youth is the best thing to come out of the punk movement though, IMO. Sex Pistols, The Clash, Patti Smith, etc are all great too, but they have a limited appeal that's so obviously outdated now.

I'm definately a huge fan of their older stuff, although, I still do listen to them occasionally.

Personally i cant stand them, another horribly overproduced mainstream band.

Or as i call them, Coca Cola bands.

+1 Gaslight Anthem is a damn good band. As for greenday... I am not a big fan. I definitely dont think they deserve the attention they get. A rockband game dedicated to them? Seriously? Its all about whatever sells to the masses of 14 y/o's these days, not whats actually good. Thats my opinion.

So talking about music, i think Green day is my favorite band... well it's the only band I listen to these days. Are any of you fans of them? Do you think they suck, or are decent? Do you have any albums/songs by them?

I think they are getting too old for what they are doing.

i saw them in concert during their American Idiot tour when i was about 13, i don't regret going but i probably wouldn't go at my current age/state of mind.
