Many early G3 iBooks were reported as having a terrible odour from the plastic keyboard.
I suggest you try and install one of these smell-worthy iBook keyboards to your particular MBPro, and you'll have a unique collectors item that in the future could be worth a fortune ........:)
It could even end up in the NY museum of modern art for posterity alongside the Apple G4 Cube.;)
If you pay that sort of high price for the 16" you must expect some unique features. Enjoy!

Well, in the past I have heard a kind of sputtering noise coming from apps/games that have crashed (as if it's replaying a fraction of a second of audio over and over very fast). I can't offer any explanation of why a crashed app would do that - I'd expect either a solid tone or silence - but perhaps a force shutdown triggers a similar situation?

Look on the bright side though. It's the silent ones that are deadly.

Hi, I noticed that whenever I force the laptop to shutdown by pressing the power key continuously for a few seconds, the machine generates fart-like sound when turning off. This only happens to MBP 16". What is happening?

Proof that MacBooks and macOS are heading towards iOS/iPadOS-ification more and more. There is an in-built app for that on the MacBooks now. Or, you could say that since Apple took the startup chime from you, it gave you a shutdown fart instead.

On another note, this is nothing to worry about, this is most likely a response to yanking the power out of the components that way. This is not a graceful shutdown, as it were. It's going to be noisy. It is not just with your computer, every computer can do that, MBP 2011 did that when you would press the SMC reset combination while the computer was running, the Air does that too. I have a feeling this is the fan getting cut off. I am not sure of the exact reason behind this, never bothered.

You know that shutting down that way should be a very rare method to employ. Using it would suggest a larger problem than the title suggests.

Maybe there’s debris stuck in the fan. Might want to take the back off and check for dust/debris.

That stinks. Place two charcoal tablets on the keyboard before closing, or download the Beeno app.
