Yeah, but with all the head trauma those guys get, you expect poor decision making. But this is MacRumors, where everyone has a brain and common sense!

The big plus to grappling is you can go nearly full on on a daily basis without getting hurt. Certainly, there's no head trauma.

Fast heart rate and diet pills

GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!

Your heart can likely handle a lot of stress but this is unnaturally induced and you should see a doc about the best way to get off these pills

DO IT!!

If you are overweight you should try to decide which is more of a health issue. Being a young and a otherwise healthy person that has high blood pressure and extremely high heart rate(140-150 without medication) I would say avoid causing any potential problems. If your heart rate is over 100 I would recommend that you stop taking it.

Your heart won't explode, however if you have an arrhythmia already it increases the frequency and chance of your heart not regaining a regular rhythm if one does happen.

Also, I'd be more worried on how the contractility and BP changes that happen putting stress on all the vessels if you plan on making this a long term thing. It would increase your risk of formation dissecting aortas, abdominal aortic aneurysms, stroke, and subarrachnoid hemorrage (secondary to an aneurysm and rupture in the vessels of your brain).

Also, depending on your age, your other risk factors, and if you have some kind of coronary artery disease, the increased stress and oxygen demand you put on your heart will increase your risk of myocardial infarction (heart attack).

After reading your post ("heart explode") and some of the replies to your post ("combustible muscle") I urge you to stop seeking medical advice from MR members and express any concerns you have to your doctor.

And are you sure you're burning 1000 calories with your cardio? I think you can pull that off in an hour of running, if you're running a six minute mile. But you're taking diet pills, so I think it's safe to imagine that you aren't running six minute miles.

See a medical professional! Good luck!

1) talk to your doctor.
2) max HR = 220-age. If yours is very close to that level when you are sitting then go to the ER.

Tachycardia is not good for the blood vessels. It can cause many problems.
