But youre not going to have full conversations through a watch.. its awkward and clunky to take all your phone calls on a watch, all your texts, skype, telegram, Instagram, snapchat... the watch isn't suppose to replace a phone, or really do what a phone does at all, its a watch / fitness band. Time and calories is what counts.

It would be convenient but take up more room, cost more for the watch, and you'd have to pay every month, not sure if the trade off is truly worth it.. you know what I mean :(

It would be worth it for me.

I could see an upgrade program. They'd force apple care as they do currently, making an easy added $50 for the year. Perhaps even increase the monthly rate so that you're laying off more than half the initial msrp.

The feature list has me bouncing off the walls. This is exactly what I've been waiting for. I almost decided to buy a used watch having seen the new OS (wife has one) and even considered a Moto sport (would have had to stnc to my work phone) but am glad I waited.
I could deffientely see an upgrade program too. Apple isn't stupid. A lot of people think they are, but Apple makes billions and all these people who complain about how stupid Apple is make significantly less LOL

Watch 2 is more of an internal improvement. Unlikely Apple would dramatically change the design on Version 2. Not sure what you were expecting?

probably this.....

People that think apple is stupid are the ones that are mad they're not catering to their current needs/wants.

I'd be lying if I said I was happy about the iPhone 7 leaks. But I can simply not buy that phone. It sounds like I'll be buying a watch so... That works for me lol

And like that Apple has distracted me from how bummed I was lol.

I agree, some of the rumors are very irritating, actually, but if you don't like it dont buy it. Very simple. We need more people like you haha

sounds lame. no more health sensors?

Maybe the jump to android will be easier for people after a lame iphone 7 and a lame Apple watch!

Tim is on a roll!

Why are you calling the Watch lame? Has Apple confirmed anything? Or are you just bashing the Watch because you have not heard any rumors based off health sensors as you stated? Enjoy your 'Jump' to Android.

I can see both sides of this...but at the end...it's really a personal opinion. In all fairness, we haven't seen any leaks or whatever. It hasn't even come out yet.

I still don't understand the point of a $649 accessory for a $649 phone. I guess I'm not the target demographic.

I wanted a round Apple Watch as well, although screen real-estate is better with a square screen, and also gives more room internally. Cant really win either way I guess :(
I gave this watch almost a year and like the way it works just not the way it looks. Different strokes for different folks I knew what I was getting when I ordered it.

Buuuut... besides reading your heart rate, can't your iPhone do all of this already??!

And you make a great point without having to Degrade the Watch with Snide comments. The Watch Is not for everybody and will not appeal to everybody. It has its uses for those who appreciate the fitness portion of the Watch and others appreciate the notification features. Your mileage may vary. But at least you recognize the Watch is not for you.

I'm still on the fence, but interested enough to be hoping Apple do enough to make me want to buy one I guess. There's a lot I already like about the Watch, but the battery life and price are probably my biggest concerns, so if the second version addresses those two issues it'd go a long way to improving the chances of me buying one.

I do not believe my eyes. Did I just read... That the next Apple Watch... Will be the same thickness as the previous generation?

You're telling me that it won't be thinner?

Actually, back in June, Macrumors posted according to Analyst Brian White, it was reported Watch 2 could be 30/40% thinner. Obviously it has not been confirmed by Apple.

cellular in a watch would be useless for any of us with grandfathered in att data plans. Waterproofing would be the biggest improvement they could make for me.

The analyst also predicted that upgraded first-generation Apple Watch models will debut in the second half of 2016 with the same processor and waterproofing upgrades, but likely without the Apple Watch 2's most significant additions like a GPS and barometer. Kuo expects another Apple Watch price cut once the new models are launched...

In keeping with Apples naming scheme, they will be called:

Apple Watch
Apple Watch Plus (upgraded 1st gen model)
Apple Watch Pro (model with GPS and barometer)

Sold, if true. This is going to be a very expensive fall if Apple releases the MBP.

Don't worry. When Apple needs to ask "what's a computer?" not much hope for a decent MBP update. Plus with rumors suggesting Kaby Lake U (U and Y Broadwell currently used) will come up in early 2017, what will Apple do? Release Skylake MBPs 3 months before Kaby Lake U ships, or delay the MBP another 3 months for Kaby Lake? (assuming rumors are correct).

Apple should have done a Skylake refresh 6 months ago. Now, unless they can get early U series Kaby Lake chips they will anger customers no matter what they do because it is not likely they would wait 18 months to release a Skylake MBP then upgrade to Kaby Lake 3-4 months later.

Had me laughing...

First generation should be discontinued, it just confuses people.

But the $100 price difference won't confuse them.

Apple needs to drop the price of the Watch to draw in more customers, and prime them for the flagship model once they're hooked. And why make them pay for features they don't use, like GPS and the barometer? Leave those features for the customers who already know how great the watch is and are looking for more utility ...

Who is this guy "KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo"? I feel like all he does is scratch his ass and then write a "research note" to the public.

You've been a member here since 2007 and you don't know who Ming-Chi Kuo is?

Ming Kuo, what about an update on the new MBP!?!?

Skipped the first gen. If it has a god and barometer this will be a day one buy for me, no questions asked.

I can guarantee it won't have a god.

Another product update I will likely pass on. Why would they update the 1st gen watch with less water-proofing? Seems illogical.
I don't understand. Firstly, this is only a rumour. But secondly, where does it say anything about less waterproofing?

It says the AW2 will have superior waterproofing, and the AW1 will receive the same processor and water-proofing upgrades.

Im on the beta, I can confirm it is much much faster, although battery will die 5-15% faster. Basically they added background app refresh so apps open instantly- no loading; all depends on your settings.
[doublepost=1470627395][/doublepost]
Very much agreed, considering its a watch, and that many swim apps exist for it. Water proofing has always been a goal- right?
Where are you getting this inferior water-proofing info from?
