I weigh about 260 and am 6' 4" tall.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm fat.

I plan on losing some weight, but I dont let people get to me that make fun of me.

And I get made fun of a lot, about my weight, my height, and my long hair thats pulled back into a ponytail.

As far as I'm concerned people that make fun of me can s*** my n**s.

Oh yes, I'm also a member of FPNA.

I don't think you're that fat really. At least not enough to warrant people making fun of you in my opinion, but then again I have no idea what you look like.

Do you have a beard? Ponytails look better with a beard.

Since I somewhat consciously started trying to lose weight I've managed to lose 60lbs (it's been about 10 months). Go me! :D Unfortunately I still have another 40lbs to go before I'm at my ideal weight. Yes, that means I was 100lbs overweight at one point. This next month is going to be a real test as I'll be on holiday in Germany, Prague, and Austria, so I'll probably end up eating unhealthly and drinking lots of beer. If by the end of summer I've lost 10lbs I'll be happy.

I tried being vegan for a few months once and went to Germany during that time. I must have stared at this sausage stand for almost half an hour. They were selling by the half meter in a huge bun with saurkraut. Oh my god...

I found this thread just a few days late to get in on the "start".

However, I've been working on it already for 2 weeks, and haven't made any progress. I've built up more muscle though, which will enable me to burn more fat in the coming weeks. I'm 5'11" and 250lbs. In the long (long) run, I'm working to get down to about 185. But my biggest project this summer is losing weight.

I'm doing it healthfully, though. We had a huge thread on this last summer, and body image and safety were major discussions. So all of those things still apply. But here's my methodology:
----------
- I don't eat breakfast. (I never really have, but I thought I'd let you all know)
- I have a healthy, and very calorie/portion controlled lunch. (Usually under 500 calories can get me a turkey sandwich (light bread + deli turkey + mustard), a piece of fruit, an accessory (some pretzels, cottage cheese, etc) and a *large* glass of water)
- I try to portion my dinner, so I dont' overeat.
- I bike 5-10 miles daily
- I do 100 crunches, and as many pushups as I can do, every night
- I *never* consume calories after 10:00pm (food or beverage)
----------

That's how I'm hoping to do it. I've got plenty to lose, so I should get biking instead of typing!

Just wanted to join in, and I'll let you know if I hit any milestones!

I'm no expert, but it sounds like you are not eating enough - that is you should probably try eating several *small* meals a day. Its been my experience that the minute you are hungry, your metabolism is slowing down. Eating often, but small keps that form happening.

The dietician also told me that if you do eat after 6 p.m. or so, it should be protein. I'm currently doing someting pretty radical to lose some weight; I will report when and if I see results. ;)

Oh, I eat plenty. I shoot for foods with as low of calories as possible, so I can eat a greater amount and feel full. (I like to eat) ;)

i'm the opposite way of the OP...

i'm hardly skinny, but i'm trying to gain weight. i'm 5'10, currently 175-180 and trying to get up to 200 before football season starts.. not having much luck tho.

hello folks, it's nice to see new people on board. Here's what I've been up to:

Monday: 86ed the beach and did shoulders and the cardio machine for 30 minutes. Scale: 169

Tuesday: 45 minutes of cardio(5th day in a row! woohoo!). Scale: 170

Today: Chest and tris. Gave myself a break on cardio cause it was a bit stuffy at 4pm. Scale: 168.5 and then I drank a lot of water while working out. Scale read 169 as I was leaving. :p Oh and I also did inclined situps too, 4 sets of 30.

So.... I'm throwing in the towel with the fat club.

Reason? Let's just say nbs2 and I found out a few days ago that we will soon have our own personal things to post to this thread. I hope we're not premature by posting that info since it's still very early....

Good luck to everyone else! I hope you're all keeping up with it. :)

Congratulations! Is it your first? If it is all I’ll say is good luck, if not then you were warned!!:D

It's our first so we're nervous/excited about it. I'm trying to be really careful since we're not even through the first trimester yet so anything goes still at this point.

MR will be the first forum that s/he posts to. :D

That's awesome news - congratulations! Hope all goes well (I'm sure it will).

Oh, and to nbs2 - you might as well resign yourself to gaining some weight during this whole thing. My wife's pregnant as well, and even though I burn an additional 4000 calories per week training for my half-marathon, I've still managed to add a couple of pounds  :D

Oh, no!

At least I'd lost 5-10 pounds before having to quit that endeaver. If he doesn't get rid of his belly soon we'll both have to hear about it from his family. :D They're very open to pointing out his gut and his need to get rid of it to be healthy and they partly make it my job to enforce his plan to get rid of it. This is not going to help either of us out at all, I guess....

Well, he definitely doesn't want the response to "we're pregnant" to be "I can see that, I just can't tell who's carrying it!"

Good point. We'll have to find a way for this fat club plan to work for him without my need to follow it....

Whoa, congratulations! That's so exciting! I'm really happy for the both of you.

Not to be premature myself, but how about letting the MacRumors community vote on the name once you two have gotten it narrowed down to a handful and can't decide.

Good for you. :D

I am on day 7 of this fast with three more days to go. I don't know how much weight I have lost, but I have.

Next step is a high-protein low-carb diet with no preservatives, colors or artificial anything (basically this eating plan/lifestyle change).

Hoping to start marathon training again in September. ;)

If you start losing some of that can you send some my way pleeze? :p
Judging from your picture I will guess you are still in your 20s. Give it some time and somewhere in your 30s your body should start saying f**k it and you will have the weight youve always wanted:rolleyes: :)

Let me know how it goes, and good luck!
