Ever since I got my AW Series 0 when it released, I’ve tried using apps. But I just find myself never touching them. The screen is way to small for me to, for example, check my email. I’d rather do that on my iPhone. And most third party apps are pretty limited, and for good reason, because they are on a watch. I love that they’re there, it’s just there isn’t much to do. Plus having a S0 discourages me from doing anything else but checking the time.

Swarm.

Since update last year now it’s really accurate for check-in. I don’t have to bring out my phone to check in places again.

I use carrot, pillow, and our groceries. With my grocery list on my phone and Apple Pay with my cellular watch I have no need now for my phone when grocery shopping

Sure, it is the native ones... iMessage and Apple Pay for me. Everything else will take too long to load to be useful; checking RSS notifications of watch while beeing pooping on restroom - oh wow, loading takes longer than flushing... So it'll only be used for imessages within meetings and paying...

Endomondo for cycling, hiking and running. It's the perfect example of how a Watch app should be built. It works with the S0 through the S3, taking advantage of whatever hardware is available. For example, if your watch has a GPS, it uses it, but if it doesn't, it uses the phone's GPS. It can work without a connection to the phone and sync's up whenever you're next in range. It took them years to get the app right, but now it's awesome.

AnyList for grocery lists and sharing with my wife.
Slopes for tracking ski runs. It's especially nice because it auto-detects when your run starts and ends and when you're on the chair-lift.
