I love British tv shows, i always have. Some of my favorites are Faulty Towers, Black Adder and The thin blue line (lets not forget Life of brain thou its a movie). Could i get some recommendations or suggestions on what else i could get and i am sure a lot of people will love these movies and any of the ones listed.

Only fools and horses (voted Britains best sitcom), best show ever made imo.

Then if your mid teens-late 20's, you will also probably like stuff like Shameless and Skins (both great).

The office (the original UK version, the US version is poor), not that big a fan of it myself but millions love it.

Have I got news for you (Satire show) Brilliant.

If you like black adder and the thin blue line, then you will like Mr Bean as well, although youve probably heard of him.

Porridge (A bit dated but still hilarious).

All of these shows, clips, or indeed full shows, are on youtube.

Yup.... Red Dwarf... and kind of Father Ted though thats Irish really its still very funny and was shown on Channel 4 in UK.

How about danger mouse!!!? Its was a kids cartoon but it was very good.

Only Fools And Horses... Dad's Army....

Would Life On Mars count? That was very good and sometimes very funny.

For some 'proper' British humour take a look at 'QI', 'The League of Gentlemen', 'The Might Boosh' and 'Gavin and Stacey'. :D

My favorites include:

Fawlty Towers
Black Adder
The Office
Red Dwarf
To these I would add two shows:
1. Are you being served? (an older 70's/early 80's show about department store employees)
2. Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps ( a 20-something sitcom, honestly I only watched a couple of these (and I was drunk at the time) but I enjoyed them a lot... enough to remember the shows name when I got back home)

How can nobody have already said "The Catherine Tate Show"?! Lauren is pretty much the funniest character I've ever seen on a skit show. :D

I used to watch Are You being Served as well when I was younger. Classic funny show, but not as outrageous/silly (in my opinion) as my other favorites such as Black Adder, Red Dwarf, etc. - but everyone's sense of humor is different. ;) :)

Hmm...I wonder...:D

Lately I've been watching The Extras...excellent show, lots of cringy humor.

I've also recently seen Red Dwarf for the first time, that's pretty good as well.

I'm a big fan of "Knowing Me, Knowing You... With Alan Partridge" and "I'm Alan Partridge" with Steve Coogan. Actually, any of Steve Coogan's stuff is pretty damn great. Try "Saxondale." :D

I'm not so sure how well Are You Being Served will translate, I think it's dated more than the other shows we've talked about...

I thought the first few seasons were hilarious, but I had a glimpse of some of the later stuff and it really jumped the shark...I think it's more of an acquired taste for someone who already likes British humor.

PEEP SHOW!!! and The Mighty Boosh.

Peep Show owns though, one of the consistently funniest TV shows I've seen...

Well yes, it's not outrageously silly as Black Adder or Red Dwarf, but still had it's moments. I was well and truly warped by Red Dwarf after a bunch of University roommates and I watched the first few seasons of Red Dwarf back to back... good fun, but it was hard getting that theme song out of my head! :)

Actually because it's dated it might do well. I recall thinking how the show would have been considered too much for North America at the time it aired on the BBC. ... but there is no doubt about it the show is dated!

going to add two more, altough these probarly dont beat red dwarf and Qi as my favourties

Never mind the buzzcocks, music quiz
'allo 'allo, sitcom set during world war 2
